$100 vs $340
(not including removal/install if you don't do it yourself)

I only paid $40...

big difference to me
That's exactly what I plan on doing within the next couple of weeks. But, it may not work out that way for everyone. Hopefully, the SPL bushings will not be overpriced...

Mine too. I've had both my rods replace with new complete rods.

My press is not at my house. So if i were to do the bushings, i'd need to remove the rods, drive (in another car) to where my press is, do it, and then drive back and reinstall. I'm sure some guys don't have a press...so they may need to pay someone to press the new ones in.

So it really comes down to $$$ vs time. I think replacing the entire arm is a quicker, easier job....vs pressing the bearings on. But pressing is far cheaper.

I agree. First, I will have to drive to the dealer to order the bushings (drive back to pick them up). Then, remove the compression rods from my car. To get to the shop I will have to borrow my parents car, wait for the press, and drive back home to install the rods. It would be quicker, easier, and more convenient to replace the whole rod.

If you buy these SPL bushings for $100+ also add another $100+ for the labor at the dealer. I'm sure other places can do the pressing cheaper, but whey not make a rod for $100?
'cause the bushing only cost $20...

regardless of what your dealer does, the TSB tells them to replace the bushing... so if your dealer wants to spend the money replacing the whole rod that's fine; but manufacturer isn't going to reimburse them for more than the bushing.

I have same problem (05 G35 Coupe) please anyone. I want to know how you replaced the compression rod. I will be changing them soon.
Do I need to remove the cross arm underneath the compression rod (where the rod is mounted), how do I take it out.

Pictures will be very helpful.

Thank You

have any of you guys tried the coupe bushings? they are solid rubber unlike the sedan ones, and we pretty much never have problems with them.

i just talked to our 6yr parts guy and coupe comp rods and rwd sedan comp rods are different. coupe bushings can not be baught separate, and have no air gap on the bushing like sedan bushings do. a coupe full comp rod will work on a sedan as i have installed a set on one before.

"air gap"?... what air gap?...

you might want to ask your 6yr parts guy to let Riverside Infiniti know they listed the OEM part wrong... and let all the coupe guys that have bought the exact same part that I put on my sedan that they did it wrong

it's the same part.
