Apologies for asking what maybe a lame question, but for those of you who have replaced your compression rods...do you have to remove the steering rack to remove the compression rod?

I second that, all I did was drop the bracket around the comp. rods and the tie rods. Once you can turn the hub all the way forward they should be fully exposed.
