10mm Spacers. Lug question....

10mm Spacers. Lug question....

If I put 10mm up front on my X, will I need extended lugs or can I use the stockers?

I would recommend extended lugs. I wouldnt dare run 10mms on stocker lugs studs. Most would be 3-4mms

so use the bolts that come with them correct? OEM lug nuts fit or no?

You just need extended studs that have the same lug thread as stock. Did you spacers not come with extended studs?

I needed longer bolts when i put on 5mm spacers. H&R 5mm kit came with the bolts i believe.

As long as they have the same thread grip and size you can use your stock lugs. Try and hand thread it on and if it goes on without any issues by hand you should have the correct size. For my 5/16" spacers I needed extended lugs, I used the nismo lugs which could be used with stock lug nut size, but they have to be open because they stick out way too far.

I am looking at 10mm Ichiba V1s. They come with bolts but wonder if my lug nuts will fit. Anyone have insight?

Yea you can use your OEM lug luts if you the 10mm V1s come with longer studs.

With spacers, i would consider upgrading to hardened studs always. You are putting more stress on the lugs with a spacer, so better safe than sorry.

Bolt-on spacers are safer than slip-ons. The slip ons tend to rotate slightly on the hub and put stress on the lugs where they protrude from the rotor.

Cheap insurance

Don't buy v1s, buy v2s.

If you run V1s then yes you need extended studs, V2s you don't need them.

so then should I:

go w/ V1s and use the extended bolts w/ my OEM lug nuts or...
go w/ V2s and use stock lugs and bots?

V2's.

I put some 15mm V2s on a while back and it was quick and simple, well worth the extra money. Plus if you ever change wheels and dont need the spacer, you will have studs that are the proper lenght. Just make sure your wheels have protrusions on the back side for the stock studs to fit in.

yea once i figure out what size i need i think im going to go with the V2's cause i no i wont be keeping these wheels forever and the next wheels i get i wont be needing any spacers ....
