which side??? front wheel bearing

Pretty simple question..... I have a front wheel bearing going bad.... I jacked the front end up and neither of the wheels have any play from what i could tell. The car has a light roaring noise going strait, when I turn to the right it gets heavier, when I turn to the left it goes away all together.....

thanks

so what was the answer from Riverside? I'm having the same issue too. Replaced the front bearing and still hearing noise. Not sure if it is the same side or the other side.

from what I described to the tech.... it appears I am going to start with the left side... good thing is they are universal. Worst case scenario it could be both...

sounds like the left side. alot of times they wont have play in them nor can you feel it UNTIL you take the wheel bearing out and spin it by hand.

I have a very similar problem with my '04 G35x. Car only has 61K miles. Just put new tires all way around. If any difference it is more pronounced now. From 30MPH and up I hear a humming noise similar to the sound made by the engine fan. As I speed up so does the noise. Purchased car about 5-6 months ago and it appears to have been well maintained. Noise began within last week or so. I can't afford to take it to an Infiniti dealer right now. I suspect the psgr side front wheel bearing. At present I am trying to remove the Hub assembly to check the bearings. Using long breaker bar to remove spindle nut; but can't keep rotor from turning in process. I am sure impact would help but my air compressor is broke. NEED HELP Am I looking in the right direction for the cause and can you suggest how I can remove that nut.
