I need new pads too but I'm planning on tracking the car in the next few months so I'm looking into EBC YellowStuff pads. EBC makes impressive claims about quality, design and materials. don't know if any of it is true. Anyway, their RedStuff pads are a more agressive street pad and I think their Ultimax pads are a direct OEM replacement. Might be worth looking into.

lol, great minds think alike! I have an E46 M3.
I have concerns w/ aftermarket brake pads causing noise. Is this the case typically?

I last outfitted my 2003 sedan AT with Akebono pads and Kiriu rotors about 25K miles ago. When I took it into the dealership yesterday (after a 4 year absence!) they said the rears are dangerously low, at 3mm (new is 10). The fronts are at 6.5. Wondering if this is normal.
