Bought a G35... rear alignment issues.
2003 G35 Coupe.
20" wheels and tires.
Car is lowered a few inches.
Im very car literate. I understand about negative and positive camber and tow in and tow out.. but im boggled on this one...
Ok hope you can follow me on this..
The alignment is way off in the rear. The driver side rear tire; either the farthest back side of the driver rear tire is pushed out too far, or the farthest forward section of the driver rear tire is sucked in too much. Problem Im having is that the adjustments are much maxed out? See the attached image that I attempted to draw to help.
What can I do? Can I buy aftermarket controls arms?
Thanks
Eric

If your illustration is correct, and the driver rear tire is pointed or steered towards the center of the car, it looks like your rear toe setting needs to be adjusted. If the tech tried to adjust rear toe but couldn't get it all the way back in spec, you may just need to purchase an aftermarket toe bolt and have it re-aligned. The aftermarket toe bolt will allow for more adjustment than the factory bolt.
If you are on the stock suspension (not lowered), it is uncommon for toe to be out of spec far enough that the factory adjustments do not get it back in spec. I would check for signs of damage to other suspension components also. The car could have been hit in that area at one point.
Good luck.

I agree. So we can get an idea how far out of spec you are. Also, when you say "lowered a couple inches" how much are you lowered and on what type of equipment?
If only one side is out of wack... i'd suspect damage of some kind.

You cannot judge a car's alignment based on its appearance relative to the body panel.
Anyhow, it is normal for the stock alignment bolts to run out of adjustments. As bushings wear out and deform, they lose some adjustment.
It could be that one or more of the arms is bent. But without an alignment printout there is no way to tell.
