G35x front wheel bearings
#122
Does Infiniti use the same part for bearings/hubs for the 2003 fx35 awd as the 2005 g35x? I called the dealer with my g35x vin and a 2003 fx35 vin ready but he could not verify if the part would actually fit when I took things apart. If it fits, then the hub and bearing is available from autozone for a whopping $170. nice!
Edit:The part is not interchangeable. What is the next best option for a bearing/hub assembly?

Ebay.
Edit:wrong listing
$150 for bearing hub already pre assembled
Price of the bearings has come way down since I wrote this post. I remember paying $150 just for the hub alone.

I bought a different one from eBay last night that listed specifically that it fit the 05'x model. The seller presses them together before shipping. In the link you sent the seller states that the parts are not available separately from the manufacturer. I don't know for sure of what you linked will fit because I had that fx35 assembly in my hand and it was HUGE comparing to the X bearing I brought in to compare. Until someone sends the seller a VIN we won't know for sure if that is a good option for the 2005 g35x.
Since I bought one pre pressed... Will I be able to wack the **** out of my current one and it will fall out of the spindle? I've replaced it before in the past with a press to both remove the bearing from the spindle and the hub from the bearing. I moved and don't live near that shop with the press anymore is why I ask. Thanks

The only compatible bearings are the ones listed for 03-06 AWD g35 sedans. The m35 is probably the closest in similarity to the g35 and the bearings are differet part numbers.
Unsure if you will need a press to do this job a second time. When I did mine the first time, I needed the press. I used plenty of anti-seize with the hopes of it falling out with a slide hammer if I ever needed to do the job again. I haven't...yet, so unsure if it will come out. I would probably scout out another press to use before beginning the job.

Disregard that link. Wrong listing.

If they are quoting you $56 for labor to replace a wheel bearing, take it and run.
Back when both fronts on my 06 were bad, they quoted me nearly $900 each side parts and labor. Needless to say I did it myself.
I don't see how they can do that though. It took me 3 hours per side to do the job.
