Steering wheel spins freely
The other night I was driving home and while going around a turn I kind of felt a pop and the steering got very loose. It’s almost like I have super power steering now. Or if you were to turn the wheel with the front jacked up. There’s no resistance. Both tires move like they are supposed to and there’s no noises. When parked you can feel normal resistance but while driving it’s like an arcade game steering wheel. No play or wiggle on the wheels when I jacked it up. Guessing it’s the rack and pinion? No tears, leaks or burning smell which is what google identified as a bad rack. I’ve never had an issue with a steering rack in my life so I’m lost here. Guess I should add it’s an 06 coupe 6mt with that stupid rear active steering stuff. 124k miles.

Clock spring
You probably broke the clock spring find another g 35 so and years and replace the clock spring have someone knowing what there doing with a scanner tool so they can reset your traction and r seat your steering angle be care when you take off the bolts in the steering wheel you can strip them eazy

He said the steering "got really easy to turn suddenly". This is usually a failure on the R&P unit itself, there is an adjustment screw that you use to set the pinion preload when you rebuild the units and you can adjust them with a big hex screw on the side of the unit. You can always try tightening up that screw 1/4 turn to see if it helps but I'm guessing one of the little "teeth" on the inside of it broke off and is sitting in the bottom of the unit.
He said no visual damge underneath i check the clock spring make sure you get the right one plus it's not all of the sudden it stuck like that i did the some thing. Does your horn work by chance
