Brake pedal feel

Hey guys,

I've had my 6MT coupe for about 3 months now. I have been noticing that when I press on the brake pedal, its doesn't have the "firm" pedal feel like when I first got the car. I would have to press the pedal twice to get the brakes to firm up. Feels a little like when there is some air in the brake lines, but not that bad.

I'm gonna make an appointment to bring it in, but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or am I just going crazy?

Thanks for the help.

Kenchan,

No hard braking. I've been taking it easy with the car. Still breaking it in. Although, I do drive 10 miles to work in bumper to bumper traffic.

Thanks for the help.

Where do you live? Is there a high moisture content in the air? Does it rain a lot? Do you park your car outside? Maybe quite a bit of moisture has seeped into your brake fluid?

I live in the bay area as well, San Jose to be exact. The car is parked outside in an uncovered parking lot when I'm at work. At first I thought it was the hot weather that was causing the issue, but the problem is still there on cooler days and at night.

I have the same mushy brake pedal on my 6mt sedan. Dealer replaced the master cylinder for me, and it did nothing. I'm thinking of getting ss braided brake lines.

I had the some thing happen to me but I like a softer brake pedal. Its easier to be smooth with the brakes. However, I can kick in the ABS the first time I step the brakes with a lot of force so I don't think anything is wrong.
