Stoptech 14" BBK Installed: PICS Updated
Well, I spent yesterday and today installing my 14" Stoptech BBK which has been sitting in the garage for the past two weeks.
Below are a couple of pics. More can be found at my website.
As far as the installation, the Stoptech manual is pretty straight forward.
The rears were the most time consuming because of the dust shield and making the caliper bracket flush.
1- I found it easier to use tin-snips to cut the dust shield as compared to my Dremel cutting wheel
2- DO NOT use a grinder to make the caliper mounting bracket flush. Grab a file and you'll have it looking pretty in no time flat
3- Getting a wrench with enough leverage to torque the caliper mounting brackets is tough but doable
4- I adjusted my e-brake while I had everything off. Pretty easy process
5- Rather than trimming my dust shields up front, I just simply removed them by removing 4- 17 mm bolts that hold the wheel hub to the axle
I'll have more pics up in the next couple of days on my website.
Oh...my OEM Brembos are for sale. More details and pics to be posted within the next couple of days
ENJOY!!!

i went with a subtle look.
silver/blue were not an option.
red makes the brakes stand out too much.
black is very, very hard to notice. You'll first see the car and admire the color and paint. after more looking, you'll notice it has more to offer
powdercoating them to match the car is always an option further down the road, and yes, I did already consider it
thanks for the compliments thus far.
and I got the 14" kit for show reasons. if for track, best bet is to go with 14"/13"

FYI-
front brembos - sale is pending. I need to find a buyer for the rear before i go through with this sale
if anyone is interested in just the rear set (especially those who track their car), please get back to me.
to give you an idea on pricing structure, the Stoptech 13" rear caliper/rotor set MSRP for $2295. i know it's comparing apples and oranges, but you get the idea
