anyone know if 350z springs are shorter then the G35c?

im assuming this is the case since and i quote...

"NOTE!: Any aftermarket 350Z spring will lower a coupe (G35C) a additional ½” over and beyond the published drop amount for the 350Z. For sedan owners, the same applies to you, except you will gain a additional 1”, not just ½”"

so a 0.7" drop on a 350z translates to a 1.2" drop on a g35c when i use springs designated for the Z correct (due to the 0.5 differential)?

If I get this right, going in order of increasing stiffness/performance and decreased comfort, we have

OEM Sport-Suspension Package
Tein CS = HKS LS
HKS LS+
HKS RS
Tein Flex = HKS II

That right?

yah i think ur above comments are just about right!
Ok so I am a DAILY DRIVE and do you guys honestly thinking a spring and tokico D shocks is a better route to take? I do no track my car at all, no autocross, nothing that involves my car really racing other than spirited driving! =) I need something that will drop my car and increase some handling all while holding close ratios of stock comfort. Or do you guys just say get the coilovers? If get get coilovers id get HKS LS. If not then what spring and shock set up would you guys recommend. I will also be on aftermarket wheels later on but right now im on my stock 19s. I can't remember but if i drop less than a 1in on my car was it i only need a rear toe for alignment or do i need cambers in the front too? - I really need some help with this!

OP, do you have the link to the T1R setup. I can't search it anywhere on 350z-tech.

Thanks a lot.

Wow, very good information! Even tho I STILL can't decide which setup to go for... (doesn't mean all this information isn't helpful, I'm just picky like that.. :P )
Trying to decide between HKS Hipermax RS or Tanabe Sustec Pro-Seven

Reasons:

HKS Hipermax RS:
Friends have RS, LS+ and I love how comfortable they are (they were set to medium(15) stiffness). I would love to get the Hipermax II, but HKS USA only warranties RS now. For daily driving, strictly street only, I'd definitely go with RS, but I do want to drift my car after I get clutch and LSD later. I'm worried RS might not cut it when drifting on them.

Tanabe Sustec Pro-Seven:
Only been hearing good things about them. Although a little bit more pricey than the HKS RS, I think this setup will be perfect for me. I hear this set will be nicer than the RS at tracks hands down. I'm just wondering how soft (or stiff) these are at softest setting, and compared to medium stiffness set RS.
Car will be mostly street driven, but my neighborhood doesn't have bumpy roads so I'm thinking I can live with stiffer ride. One problem with this set is that Tanabe said I have to cut some holes or something because on G35 Coupes, the space is limited and I can't adjust the rear stiffness if I don't cut holes to get access to the top mount. Any experiences/suggestions?

Zeal Function XS or X:
I don't think I need to explain why I want these. I was thinking if I'm spending $2000+ on Tanabe, what the heck, I'll get Zeals. Only problem is that, Endless/Zeal does not have any in stock and I would have to wait a month. Which is not an option for me.

I want to buy a set today, and I'm going nuts trying to decide what to get. Anyone wanna help me out?

Hi Jim (Gsedan35),

I have an unrevised 350Z setup in the front of my 03.5 sedan. Are the stock Sport shocks a bit softer? My ride is a bit rough (no doubt due to the 20's), but it has always been rough since I made the suspension swap.

I replaced the rear set up w/ a Coupe spring and stock Sport shock, and it helped a bit..and I've been meaning to swap out the Z shock w/my Sport shock...would it make the ride any better?

D-specs would be great to have of course...or a coilover system, but looking for alternatives now.

Thanks,
Grant

You have oem unrevised Z shocks on the front? If so, pull them and swap on your oem sedan sport shocks. Yes, the sedan sport shocks are softer, and more importantly, will behave A LOT better ride and drive wise. D-specs would be even better of course.

Thanks Jim! Originally I was told the set I was buying was revised...but I quickly learned they were not.

I've bit the bullet and just bought a set of Dspecs....so I'm excited that the ride will improve. As usual, thanks for always sharing the knowledge!

hey guys thinking about switching out my springs. and I am deciding between the Nismo S tuned springs and the 350Z Stechs. Just wanted to know if the Nismo S tuned springs drop the G any lower. I didnt see the numbers for the drop on the s tuned.

Thanks again

Nismo doesn't sell springs by themselves, other then the 350Z spring setup ment for T2 racing. So I'll take it that your talking about the S-tune shock and spring setup ment for the 350Z (the one ment for the G35 coupe has to be ordered from Japan). That setup lower's the Z .8" or 20mm. Mounted on a G coupe that would equal about a -1.2" drop. 350Z S-tech's run on a G35 coupe should equal a -1.3"/1.2" drop. S-tune shock/spring owner review's for the setup are very high, next to or equal to HKS RS coilover owner reviews.
