Man, you guys and your talk about the open slots is making me want to get them... i just never had good experience with regular-slotted rotors (although i'm getting it here given the options).

<--- torn.
Mike,

Here are some testimonials from other customers with our Open Slot/Slotted Two Piece Rotors:

1) http://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php?...24&postcount=2
"I had 18 track days on the 2 PC RacingBrake rotors...they are still pristine....no grooving, warping or runout, and minimal wear"
2) http://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php?...postcount=1369
"The rotors, as before, showed no measurable wear whatsoever. What do they build these things out of? Based on my current rate of wear, I will have to replace them in the year 2046."

We've had great responses on our two piece rotors, slotted and open slot. I don't think you'll have any issues our rotors. Let me know if you decide to switch to open slot.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I know your rotors are great! (Mostly from feedback on Maxima.org). Although i'm looking at more track days, the car is still a daily driver and my comment on the slots referred not on performance, but just living with the added noise on a daily basis. It's not annoying--no squeals or anything--but it is there.

I'm getting your slots regardless, the open slots i'll have to think more about. What's the cost of replacement between the two types?

Thank you.

Mike,

Here is one of the disadvantages of slotted rotors:

As you can see, the slots tend to get clogged up with debris which requires to be cleaned every so often.

One of the benefits of the Open Slot design is that the debris that would normally build up in a slotted rotor now has a path to exit through the vacuum effect of the rotor in constant motion.

You can learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of drilled and slotted vs slotted vs open slot here: http://www.racingbrake.com/v/main/two_piece_compare.asp

Estimated cost of a replacement ring is $250 each.

Sorry guys, but I'm out for this initial GB.

My Akebono parts will be here in a couple of days
& this is going to take too long for me to get these on the car.
I'm going to have to run 1pc for now & get these later on.

That's too bad. Can't you find someone with a pair of stock rotors laying around that you can borrow until these are ready?

Meeting with one of the Infiniti dealers was postponed until Friday 9/18. Hopefully we can wrap up this project and move forward resulting from the meeting. Will keep you updated.

We will also offer some incentive for those not sign up early (first 5) for free shipping.
