Good Deal on a 2003 G35 6MT??

Hey guys.. help a brother out. Looking to the experts to tell me what to look out for and whether or not this is a good deal.

seller is asking $18300 (slightly negotiable). 6 speed manual (of course). 81k miles on it. aero kit, brembro brakes, bose, moonroof, power seats, new tires, warrantied till 100k/2009, Mobile Guardian GPS security system, are the big items.

title checks out clean on carfax. diamond graphite is the color. bone stock...

anybody want to share their experience owning a g35 so far?

thanks for the help.

81k miles?....That's kind of a crap shoot. Your basically at the mercy of how the previous owner took care of it. I don't know where you live, but in Chicago I've seen some '03 G Coupes 6MT with 25-40k miles for around $22k-$23k. So I don't know what your budget is lookin like but...Try to find some 6MT owners with high mileage like that and see how theirs is holding up. Looks nice though! -matt

81k miles is way too high...
spend 2k~3k more and get one that is under 50k miles.

However, that "warrantied till 100k/2009" sounds safe.... but i would still go with lower mileage for sure

yea... the mileage is definitely high. i only really need this car to commute 6 miles round trip to/from work and then maybe open this bad boy up on the weekends once in a while. i was thinking maybe i could "earn" these miles back and still have a decent resale value in a 1 or 2 time. it'll probably take me two years to hit the 100k...

if the high mileage is ok with u, then go for it
but if u concern about the resale value, then u should try to talk down the price to $16k.
should be alrite with the owner since it won't be easy to sell cars with that high mileage
good luck with it

I agree. Typically 1K=$20 more per month.

couple things to consider. the suggested trade-in price on edmunds with the mileage adjustment is roughly 17,800. which doesn't factor in the extended warranty.

also, looking in the local LA market, i don't see any g35 coupes selling for less than 20,000. i probably don't see too many with that high mileage either.

cobra-2-g: what do you mean by 1k=$20 more per month?

is it realistic to get too much lower?

Not to confirm or deny his numbers, but he means that for every $1000 of additional financing you assume, your payout will be an extra $20 per month.

Correctamundo!! That is an decent round average.

If you finance that amount with current interest rates (and depending on your credit) it should come in around $350/mo.

for that amount of miles, i'd go cheaper.. i've been looking around for a good deal.. and that seller seems to have it priced within the expected range.. seems like a decent deal to me though
