I am definitely jealous of your car. Not so much the numbers though! That residual is horrible and the MF is not much better.

The G37 is definitely a superior car but it is also MUCH MUCH more expensive to lease! And in these "Troubled Times" I don't want to "BUY" any car.

Boy the dealer is going to hate me when I turn in my 08 G35 Sedan with a 60% residual after 3 years. If the economy is anything like it is now then they will take a beating on it. That is if they are still in Business then!

Believe me, if they had found a G35 in the same specs as my G37, I would have taken it. And this was the best deal I could negotiate without any VPP plan, and I got the car earlier than most, except for the Canadians! Believe me, I love this car, but would have saved $150/month over the term of the lease on a G35: $5,400. I don't want to even think about it .

Thankfully, IFS owns the car, not the dealer

With the current Manufacturer to Dealer Marketing support of $2000, shouldn't I be expecting to be able to purchase a new 2009 G37x under invoice? Or would such an expectation be unrealistic?

Yes, you should be able to get the G37X below invoice. However, it all depends on where you're located, how many dealers are in your area and the availability of the car you want. Infiniti/Nissan's fiscal year end is March 31st, so dealers will more likely be willing to deal as you get closer to that date.
Good luck!

That's amazing. That's more than $2000 under invoice. How did you do it? Where?

I live in the OC in Southern CA; I got this deal from Tustin Infiniti dealing directly by email with their Internet sales manager.

I buy my cars with the same method, but I'm sure that there aren't as many infiniti dealers in my area as there are in Southern California. Thanks for the info.
