mustang GT vs G35
again autos are better if you have tons of power, for cars slower then 12 seconds usually manual is better. an auto GT's are not faster then 5 speeds unless they are heavily modded
some stock 05+ mustang times

Wow that's a pretty big difference in trap speeds.
well i think those are like the super drivers...most 5 speeds are like 101-102

I have a 04 g35x if i had an extra garage space i would def love to have a fox body and dump in a 351 windsor and other mods . hell if i had extra money and another garage space, i wouldve loved to keep my 98 328i bmw too paint job was just superbo haha
unless it was a 2011, then you are the idiot
Stock for stock anything after 08 (first year with 305-hp?) or any special additions (Bullits have 315-hp) you should definitely worry about. Same years with you having basic NA mods you should be able to stick with a GT easily, but a Bullit would probably still pull away.
They are definitely not something to take lightly. They can look completely stock and be littered with Ford Racing stickers, but be fast as hell with a blower or something underneath the hood, not to mention 4.10 rear ends. Mustangs are even becoming serious contenders on the road courses now that companies are investing parts into that market. Christ, the new 2010-2011 GT's are basically a tire/wheel package away from hitting 1-g with the Ford Racing suspension kit.

In the past I have owned a few mustangs one was a highly modified supercharged 5.0L and you couldnt give me a mustang after owning the G35. One of the worst things about them aside from the $hitty handling and garbage interiors was the clowns you met at car meets
THIS IS POINTLESS...
comparing a v8 to a v6 is your first problem. These cars are nothing alike and i will defend it forever.
The mustang is a muscle car... a thorobred muscle car with just about 50 years of development .... all motor all muscle going back to the beginning of nascar with prohibition ... sadly unlike the old cars these new mustangs with the lightweight aluminum engines are not going to be as bulletproof or accepting to mods as the old cast iron ones... the older mustangs are incredible, you can throw anything at that engine and it wont die, 150 shot of spray with colder plugs and a slight retard and you will be outrunning the police who want your moonshine
add some long tubes all the way out the back, holy **** it sounds like sex. pure american muscle
The g35 is an import tuner (350gt skyline everywhere else) this is not a straight line killer of a car. if you throw a good all around suspension system (coils camber toe sways braces) and any of the available FI kits (im talking stock internals) our g35's will start to walk away from most cars on the track. the g is a nimble well rounded base of a car and in no way will it ever stack up to the straight line ability of a muscle car.
im not saying the g cant be faster in a straight line with a **** load of work. all im saying is that its easier to build a mustang for drag than it is a g.
put them on the road course and its a completely one sided fight. the 2 are incomparible

i know the '10 m3 is a v8 and thats about it
*I've never been a fan of beamers and my knowledge on them is very lacking so this is a serious question please enlighten me!!!*
i asked a question to forum members for personal experience, i didnt ask for a magazines take that is notorious for ****ing up tests.
now from the reading you linked me to they are saying that power to weight ratio is .2 different between the cars
mustang being 8.8 hp/lb
m3 being 8.6 hp/lb
ok so what that tells me is from an engine and weight stand point the mustang is up.
butttttt from PERSONAL experience driving that mustang with the live rear is a major PITA ... the car reacts on its own and is a bit unpredictable in the corners, the steering was incredibly numb (may have just been the car i was driving) and the acceleration isnt as snappy as i was hoping for with that lightweight v8. with that being said overall the car was FAST, incredibly out of the ordinary fast for a mustang and it cornered a lot better than my friends 01 cobra.
The m3 on the other hand is an amazing experience (sadly i didnt get to drive an 11' m3 but it was an 09' bone stocker) the all wheel drive and response from that engine were right on point and the overall experience was just better. not to mention inside the m3 you feel like you are piloting a gunship about to destroy the pavement all over the world. although i would never buy one ... for the 67k price tag i can turn any used car into something better.
now if you can give me some info on personal feelings from the 11' m3 id be glad to listen but linking me to some magazine isnt gonig to give me the answers im really looking for.
not many drivers who visit forums can put there cars on the track and make them perform the way those professional drivers from magazines can. My driving is no where near the professional level but i have no problem heel toeing into turns, rev matching properly, and sliding my g smoothly. I would like someones personal take on the car because thats what forums are for.
yeah personal experience is better than a pro driver lapping them?
I said the mustang could run with the M3, I didn't say I would rather have the mustang then the M3.
Also you are leaving the mustang's torque advantage out..the mustang is defiantly faster in a straight line

Facepalm yourself this is a forum for information purposes. Most people would rather someone's opinion than that of a magazine because it's on a more personal level ... If I or some other people on this forum wanted a magazines opinion on the 2011 m3 against the 2011 gt they could just google that ****. There is no need to act like an Internet dingleberry and attempt to insult people.
