Well, my tires worked this morning
T intersection. 8:15 am. first snowy, icey day of the season. Any guesses
Me, behind a taxi at a stop sign facing North.
Young blood in a Neon heading East, fast ... makes a right (almost).
OMG dosen't he know he needs to slow down on shiny, packed snow
Goin wide, real wide ....... into taxi.......still commin..... where's reverse too late..... Bang.
Glad you got lucky Colin. Not me today. But only by about 5 inches.
A little love tap on the bumper. Gouge and scratch on bumper. Scuff marks.
Not a happy camper. Too bad I wasn't driving a camper.
Insurance adjuster says as I was stopped and he hit me, should be a no brainer and his ins. should cover my deductable with no adverse consequences for me. We'll see.
Good body shop in KW anyone?
No one hurt physically. Lots of mental pain.

sorry to hear that, Sam..... I heard on the news that some of the roads were pretty bad....and of course people won't adjust their driving habits quick enough.....
Hope you get her fixed up quickly, man......
..so was it the front bumper or rear......(the front needed repainting, right?)
..or are you just not lucky at all today?

LOL, good one Colin I needed that laugh. Yes, it was the front. I didn't have time to turn the car around and try to leave the scene.

See, Sam, there is a silver lining.......

Good to hear nobody was hurt.
It snowed hard in Calgary last Sunday and the snow has stayed for the whole week. Our Pathfinder isn't set to arrive for another week and so I've been resorting to getting rides from colleagues who live in my area in order to get to/from the office.
For sh*ts and not so many giggles, I thought I'd see how far my Z would make it out of our driveway in summer tires. Well, there's a reason why they are summer tires! I wasn't more than the ***-end of my car off the driveway when I realized that there was no way in hell that I was going to get any traction on the rears. The car just spun in place and for a second I thought I was **cked. I ran into the garage, grabbed a couple spare sections of carpetting left over from our basement reno, placed them under the rears, and hobbled my way back onto the driveway and back into the garage. Those Potenza RE040's didn't stand a chance on the hardpack!
It is suppposed to reach 15 C on the weekend and if the snow melts, I will head to the gas station to top up and then it's back to the garage for the Z.
Sunday is the big day! Although I wish that I could confirm that a car detailing wizard like picus112 aka Kevin existed in Calgary, I did find a guy (a mobile detailer) who has apparently worked some wonders on other Cowtown cars. From his pics, he appears to be pretty good. For all the Calgarians - his op is called Mobile Reflections. Proprietor's name is Jed. His before and after pics are encouraging. He will be paying my Z a visit on Sunday to do a full exterior and interior detail before the Z is parked for winter storage.
I will report later, in a separate thread, as to what I think of his work.

So...... the G went in for the bumper repair. I got a rental, 2006 Altima, didn't take the optional insurance, such a waste of money ...... ( can you guess where this is going???)
Way high curb at my bakery...... backing out and turning in reverse.... crunch, scraaaaaaape. $hit, front L undercarriage and bumper scraped. Now it's gonna cost me more than if I would have painted the bumper myself.
Life is so funny sometimes you just gotta LOL to keep from weeping.
Just needed to share. I feel better already, not.
Well at least no one was injured ( except for my pride).

THE GOOD
If I pay for the rental with my Master Card I have the CDW and MC insurers will pay
THE BAD
The three day job is taking way long. I called this morning..... One of the workers got his fut jammed between the gas and the Break and slammed my G into 5 other cars. Lots of dammage. He's talking sheet metal, pannel replacements. WTF, I had to call to find out....
THE UGLY
I'm heading to the shop, I'll try to post pics. Feelin real sad and angry.
Should I be asking for body pannels from Infinity instead of sheet metal?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is a reputable body shop and they are totally at fault. They will make it right, I just don't know what "right" is.
As always your imput and suggestions are very welcome.
Sad Sam

I would demand OEM replacement parts.
