... I knew I should've worked from the home office today
Yeah, it's been a crazy couple of days.
Like everyone else, I was so p*ssed yesterday after the long drive and shovelling. But, you know, when you read about all the trials and tribulations of everyone else out there, you don't feel so bad anymore. You definitely gotta let out a hearty laugh.
I'm starting to feel warm and fuzzy all over again. Damn, this forum is great guys!

Hey Wayne, are you back up with power? I was watching the news on the Ontario storm/power situation this am. They said 50k homes still out because of downed lines/poles.
We were forecast for 15-20cm followed by freezing rain. We got less than 10 and most of it melted with rain. The temp was +1 this morning and its already up to +9 in the shade! It's a beautiful sunny day and I was shovelling/snowblowing with a light cotton sweatshirt this morning! I may go take the G for a spin.

.Back to normal at our house though. Light snow off and on today, but windy.
Starting to think summer now
Yacht Club dinner and dance today. Thinking warm thoughts
.How is your injury doing Deane, improving I hope. Your weather there sounds as strange as ours, up and down.

Good to see the power is back. I know what you mean about long outages. Hurricane Juan in '02 had ours out for 114 hours.
Warm thoughts are good. It's +10 here right now and sunny. Enjoy the yacht club dinner and dance.
Thanks for asking about my injury. It's not good news yet with no meaningful progress and no therapy or tests/doctors have been able to help. I did some real damage to my tendons it seems. It's limiting some of my daily activities and exercise is out of the question at this time. I've put on some pounds not being able to be active and have to be careful with my diet.
I remain positive I can get back to some level of activity but realistically that is some time from now. I noticed doing the driveway this morning it took a lot out of me. That kind of thing used to be a joke when I was fit

The 114 hours wasn't actually too bad since it was in September. We barbecued all our meals and winded up clearing out the freezer!
It was so interesting living without power, tv fridge, computer etc. All the things in the modern era we take for granted. It was so quiet dark we tended to go to be earlier and get up earlier.

This is a pic of some of the Hydro crews working on the downed Hydro poles and lines on a main highway not far from our town. I still have a few friends that have no power since last week.

Hope your friends get power soon. That would be a huge problem without heating in all this cold weather.

In any case you still need electricity for the furnace fan or circulating pump with any of these systems.
