Winter Tires Info - Great White North

Finally got snow tires put on. The shop was originally planning on putting Michilen X-Ice2's on my G35x, however, they put on Yokahoma Ice Guard's instead. I hope these are good tires.

I had Yokohoma winters on one of my Maximas and they worked fantastic hullio.

I am sure you will be impressed.

finally SNOW got to test out my new Nokian Hakkapeliitta R and they work amazing I tried numerous times to fishtail the car but it wouldn't; even with the VDC off it does a good job! (But I guess any brand new winter tire would do that)

+1 on all of that, I'm quite impressed with my hakka Rs so far.

^^ i guess the real test will be how many seasons we get out of them

When the streets are COVERED in snow I can't help but turn off the VDC on turns, does this wear out the tires quicker?

Why would it cause the tires to wear quicker? Snow has a lower coefficient of friction than asphalt , less friction = less wear. It may however cause your body panels to wear out more quickly.

I think he means he likes to power slide through the turns with the VDC off. More spin = more wear.

i agree = more wear, are we talking drastic wear?
