Loaner was an '09x

Service loaner for today's service appointment was a mid-spec 2009 G37x.

7 speed auto! I'm now jealous. The shift programming is much better than on the '07 - none of that double-down-shift-at-the-slightest-provocation rubbish that's prevalent on mine.

Other differences:
-outside mirrors smaller and slightly different shape
-seat heater control is multi-step **** instead of two step switch
-more power, throatier engine noise.
-steering is lighter
-turn signal clicker is louder
-handling seems a tad sharper

Probably other subtle changes but I only had 60kms of seat time.

Ummm, no.

I'm still walking funny from the first rape -- they won't get a second shot.

If I could get a tranny re-flash that made it shift like the '09 I'd be happier. I'm still here anyway (as much for the group as for the car).

I'm tempted to try and find flappy paddles from a sport and retrofit. Chances are slim of finding the required hardware for the installation at anything less than platinum pricing, never mind what it would do to the warranty. I still may swap the +/- for the manual gate so it works the way it should (pull back for upshift, push forward for downshift).

That's actually a really good idea, anyone on here done that yet?

I actually went for a test drive in an 09 6mt coupe on Friday and then signed the papers on Monday... then changed my mind because it wasnt black. Still thinking weither I will pick up the new Coupe, or try a different route, like BMW offering no maintenance costs for 4 years.... ugh decisions!

The 09 was definitely amazing!
