That is strange Deane, a friend of mine from Dartmouth told me that their gas prices jumped to $1.79.9 this afternoon (not sure what time exactly). Would prices be different in Dartmouth than in Halifax?

 

Dang, you peeps in the East are still getting the 'dirty' end of the stick . Not nice at all. Wouldn't you just love to kick them where it hurts the most?

Prices here in Cambridge are hovering around $1.00 - $1.10 which is still outrageous, but not as much as your prices out there. Nasty.

Let's hope 'Rita' doesn't have as much bearing on the oil industry as Katrina did.

NO it was in Dartmouth where I filled up this afternoon at 3pm for $111.9 regular. Apparently those $1.79 prices were rumuors that started in Ontario and got to Halifazx quickly. Our local radio stations apparently started to talk about it fanning the flames so there was slight panic this morning. I passed by many stations with huge line ups and heard about even higher price potential from clients etc.
It was all rumuor. Later in the day the radio stations were apologizing and telling people there was no need to worry, gas prices had not changed.

We're always more expensive on most things other than perhaps housing. At least that's true outside of peninsular Halifax versus GTA.

 

On my way home (44km) just about every gas station I passed was lined up onto the street.
Prices were 1.02 to 1.04

 

Thats the way it was in my area today also. I needed gas for the truck and I sat in the line-up for 15 minutes and finally said "forget it" and left (I would have been there an hour). It's crazy, people waiting in a line-up with their vehicles idling the whole time.

 

I just checked and the price is rising in our town already, as of 5PM tonight price has gone up to $1.54 a liter.

 

I can just imagine what it'll be tomorrow a.m.

I'm good through the weekend, hopefully sanity will return by then

 

Wow, now that is price gouging.
Unfortunately we will see more price hikes everywhere after the affects of Trina. I guess that's not as devastating as what those local people will have to endure.

 

Same here. It was almost everywhere. I lucked out and found a station I drove right up to. I had to gas up as my light was on for a while and my Caravan doesn't have mcuh reserve like the G.

 

Time to take a bus! $2.50 for the bus! I haven't driven my G for 2 days and luckly i filled the gas tank full... the gas price was 92.9 (103.4 premium)... plus on top of that... I'm still out of job... Oh well...gonna keep on looking for jobs.

 

Well I guess all the panic buyers that lined up for gas last night will be annoyed this a.m.
- today @ 6a.m. prices still the same as last night 1.02 to 1.04

 

Wow, $1.54 really hurts. I am not looking forward to what lays ahead the next day or two. We are still $1.11.9 here in Saint John.....for now anyways. That could be a completely different story by the end of the day.
