How Much Does...

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know how much a replacement clock would cost the dealership?
I noticed that the bulbs behind my clock had gone out so I thought that I would be in line for a replacement. Wrong!!!
The dealer is going to order a couple of new bulbs instead. Service guy said that its too expensive for them to replace totally.

WTF???

Jerry, if you read this please give your 2cents.

Bill

Thanks for the heads up on the bulb replacement TSB.
I'm just wondering how much the actual clock costs to replace?
Service guy said around $1000. I think he was yanking my chain( maybe not?).

Here is another TSB:

That is for Sedan but u can look at the picture that provided and it should be covered by warranty.

I had the same issue where one of my bulbs burned out in the clock. Jerry ordered me a new clock and all covered under warranty. I figured he would have replaced the bulb(s), but he replaced the whole thing!

Take the TSB to your dealership and tell them to order you a new one.

I've noticed the same thing Deane...
If the dash lights are dimmed, you can hardly see the clock at all.
Turn the dash lights up & the clock is lit, but much dimmer than the rest of the lights.

Yah, that's sounds like a chain yank doesn't it......
Another factor for you Bill is that the newer clocks have thicker, more legible hands.
Tell them a new clock is doable elsewhere, but if they want the business, then that's what you want.
New bulbs, without the newer, wider hands isn't going to solve the issue.

G/L Hope to see you on the 18th at Sportworld.
C.

Exact same as mine. I'll check it out with them in the next couple of weeks and let you know. What I really need looked at is my two chip spare keys do not work anymore. The engine will crank over but no fire. Good thing my regular use one works now and I find out by accident my spares are defunct.

Sounds like they missed programming them.
They get flashed, so shouldn't loose the code,

No they have been used before. It's the first time I have used them since the battery disconnect for the plenum.
I talked to Infiniti today and they could not recall the problem before but said the chip might be defective or that may be able to reprogram if I bring in the car and all the keys.

hmmm that's a strange one.
Should have nothing to do with the battery being disconnected for an extended period.

I would tend to agree that it's a chip failure if only one, but two?
not likely.
