Got owned by mother nature
Over here in Kitchener/Waterloo, we received unexpected snowfall (or maybe it was just me that didn't know it was coming). My drive from work to home usually takes 10 minutes. Last night, it took me 3 hours! OUCH
I have myself to blame of course.. I ordered a set of Winter rubber that won't be here until this weekend (i hope) so I'm on my Michelin PS2's. I was driving in 2nd gear at approx 25 km/h and leading the pack. Came a slight incline and i start to fish tail.. steering did nothing, brakes made it worse, I ended up doing a 180 onto the incoming lane. LUCKILY, there was NO cars coming that way, or else that would've been ugly. A nice guy in a Subaru came by and help me moving again. So I thought, cool, I'll take another route home (less hilly).
Unfortunately, I met another hill and couldn't get up. This time, I almost wounded up in the ditch. Called Infiniti Roadside Assistance for help! After 2 hours later, I got home.
Brutal. I have learnt my lesson the hard way. I'm getting my Winters on ASAP. For those of you who hasn't gotten them on yet, get them on NOW! :P
Boy, do I miss my wrx during this time of the year. Do you think Winter tires will really help me? Or I'm thinking of just storing my G35c and get a fwd/awd beater.

Sorry to hear about your 3 hour adventure!
Winter tires are great in the winter. I have a sedan. On my second year of ownership, I was leaving a GO train station and had to go up a hill. I was still on the orginal Pilot Sports. Let's just say, I wasn't going anywhere. I waited till everyone cleared away, and I just pulled a U-turn and went another way home. Got home, but I could not even get on my driveway. Purchased some winter tires after that, and have not had any issues since.

got snow in sherbrooke last night on my way to the garage to install my winter tires....
First time I own a rear wheel drive car....+ pilots front, T1r rear.....+ snow...= probly my worst car experience.....you feel like you are already crash, you have no control.
This morning with Bliazzak LM-22 on my way to work with the coupe it's MUCH MORE bearable. No Fun but at least it's way more secure.

Whereabouts in Kitchener? Just curious.
The icy roads were definitely entertaining, that's for sure. It took me an hour to get home from the Mohawk Casino (I live in Wyldwoods, by Doon).
Even though I've got the Dunlop M3's and they definitely help, the ice is still the winner if things get too out of control. Don't think that you'll be unstoppable with snows.
I'm guessing your car didn't suffer any sort of damage when it went into the ditch??

Glad you got home okay Urabus, sounds pretty tense though for your ride home. It will be good to get your snows on.
We only got a couple of inches in Kincardine yesterday, enough that the plows were out. We have been getting steady light snow here all morning today. Got a call from a buddy in Port Elgin yesterday morning (35 km away) they were really getting dumped on, they had over 12 inches and it was still coming down pretty heavy.
Winter is here, time to play in the X .

Yup, no damage.. phew!
Cool, sounds like Winter tires definitely help. Anything that can get me going from point A to B without getting stuck would be helpful. I'll definitely get my Winters on ASAP.

Glad to hear your car didn't get damaged. That's great news.
You've already picked out winter tires, have you?
