Got a New Infiniti

For quite some time, I have been wanting a second vehicle.....something that would be a little better in the snow than my G. I also wanted extra cargo space for transporting larger items around. I had my mind set on a new X-Trail, however I just couldn't justify spending $35k on a second vehicle.

To make a long story short, my shopping has come to an end and I purchased a 2000 QX4. It only has 107K Kms on it and it is in near mint condition. I got O'Reagan Infiniti to do a throrough inspection on it and everyhting was top notch.

I do not get it until tomorrow, but am quite excited to get it. The G will now have a rest in my garage and will proabably only be driven when my wife and I are doing different things.

I'll post up some pics once I get it this weekend.

Let it snow let it snow let it snow!!

It looks like the QX4 has a great track record regarding reliability. Has your brother had any problems with his?

Yeah, not a bad Xmas present at all. Not sure if Santa will be bringing me a Garmin now or not.

Nothing major, the only thing recently was some really loud squeals when he first starts it. His mechanic said it was a pulley and they replaced it and it's fine now. They did change the belts first, but the squeal was still there.

Way to go Shane, they are a nice vehicle, should be able to go anywhere with it . My neighbour has a QX4 and he loves it, I know he has owned it for a few years and he has had no problems with it.

Actually, I just found out that I am picking it up today!

It is good timing too, because we are supposed to get some snow tonight and tomorrow.

Congrats on your purchase.. I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE and say I love it... last night had to go to couple of places, left the G35 home and had no issues in the truck.. Best of luck.

Shane,
Congrats on the new ride. That will be a welcome relief on the snowy and salty days.
This is my first year in about 15 that I don't own a 4x4 so I'm getting a bit antsy to get something next year.

My dad has just made a deal on a new Frontier- LE 4x4 crew cab. I got him onto the Nissan thing and he's really excited about getting it, coming from a Durango. The vehicle is being brought in from close to Colin's area- Kitchener Nissan.

Congrats to your Dad, Deane, -- Yes Kitchener Nissan isn't far away at all....Just a couple miles along Victoria Road.
Hope it has a safe trip.

I don't remember anymore ... but does the 2K QX4 have the 3.5 VQ?
When I was driving my 98 Pathfinder then later 02 Pathfinder ... I had QX envy during those times!

Great purchase! I love the QX4's and the Pathfinders, I have a 91 SE, the first thing to do is make sure you have really good tires on that beast. If it has the stinker Bridgestone HT689's GET RID OF THEM PRONTO! Get yourself a set of Toyo Open County AT's these are awesome tires, we installed tons of these as replacement tires for the QX's and the Path's , I use them myself.
I also use winters on my Pathfinder the Toyo Observes...call me a nut snows on a truck.
