Got to mp3car.com and look into the different front ends that are available. Most have free trials and some are free. See which one suits your needs best. I use CF & SD myself. As far as popping of the cubby console, its a "process". You start with your door sill trim and work your way in.

ligersandtions , have you had any issues with the bezel interfering with the touchscreen functions?
