If you notice, almost ALL the pics taken from black cars are *not* in direct sunlight. Thats the only time you will be able to see paint imperfections. My car looks just as shiny and clean as the ones posted here IN THE GARAGE. Put it in the direct sunlight and its a totally different story
Also, swirl marks are more difficult to see in winter due to the angel of the sun.

Go through this thread if you want to see come in "direct" sunlight: https://g35driver.com/forums/picture-share/82615-all-black-obsidian-coupes-post-pics.html I find it funny that you say that black cars owners don't take pics of their car in the sunlight.

Hey, it's fine if some people don't like black cars. That's why they come in different colors.

Is Black a mistake.
I've owned 6 black cars and do not regret it for 1 second.

Its all about time & effort. If you apply it to the paint she will
make you proud. If you don't....look out...1 BIG mistake.

WOW!!

I am certainly jealous of those pixs.

I don't think I'll have the time to spend on taking proper care of this baby. (and I'd hate to bring the color down in the eyes of the world)

I suppose a dark blue would give me the same headaches?

I agree that dust can be seen on a clean black car easily. The dust shows up looking a light brown color. Now, speaking from past experience, white cars also look bad when they get dirty. The dirt on white cars ends up looking black. Also, exhaust "crude" shows up more if you have a white car, but that's not a big deal until your car gets older, I guess. Get close enough to a red car and you'll see swirls too.

I wont debate which color is better than another because it boils down to what you like, it's personal preference. Now if we're talking about which color you should get 'cause you can't wash your car every week or because you might see swirls a little more easily, then, ya, don't pick black.

There are so many other reasons not to pick black. If you like the two-tone color look you get when you install carbon fiber hoods (or with window tint), don't get black. If you don't like a car that doesn't stick out at night, don't get black. And so on...

go IP!.....i debated whether i should get OB ...but went with IP since the first time i saw ob i thought it was nice but the first time i saw IP i was blown away...looks elegant/classy but if modded right agressive as well i.e. dark tints...rims..etc etc..list goes on ...but youll always wonder how it would have been if you had gone with another color but thats going to happen regardless...my IP is bone stock right now and i can admit that it doesnt look as great as it could..mine is 05 and has 18'' oem rims ...but once i have my setup complete..which will be by summer/during summer...no other color will touch it............but by the way DG is a popular color and popular for a reason.....but do what you want to do

I <3 my black g35 except for the fact that it rains or sprinkles every day in Seattle. I wash it fully once a week and use spray detailer and a microfiber cloth to clean it every day.
