I just got mine black on black. I love it. I wash it once a week. I bought it from the dealer with the tephlon and It's fine. Wax it once every 2 months you wont have swirls. I love it and by far it is the nicest color on the 07 g35 coupe.

I washed it every 2-3 weeks and dusted it everyday.

The California Duster says "No scratches" but it does, I know by the direction of the hairline micromarring, or fine scratches that show up in sunlight.

I bought the OXO Good Grip duster which many have said it is better than the Cal Duster. It also scratches. No matter how fine the duster is, it's the dust that is picked up then dragged again over your paint/clear coat that makes MORE scratches.

I even bought a orbital buffer to get out the swirls and light scratches from washing and drying. I bought all the best towels and tools. STILL, scratches
and micromarring show up.
You will constantly be chasing your tail to maintain a show car finish.
I will NEVER do black again.
If you want dark, consider the Graphite.
I'm with you. Since getting my OB '04 coupe, I have actually become good at detailing car exteriors. I never even noticed swirls in car paint before getting my black G. Now, its all I notice. It has caused me to be obsessive compulsive. Why get such a great looking car if you have to be embarrassed because it looks neglected? If you are not going to wash it once a week, don't get it. It will look like crap and be anything but a car that people admire. It will be a dirty mess. It won't shine at all. If you use an automatic car wash (other than touchless), it will get tons of swirls. Get IP. I think my next G will be IP.

I agree. If you are the type of person to do a full outer detail every month then go for it. I had a black Honda & after 3 years of ownership I could not take it anymore. Once a month I had to wash, do a swirl remover, and wax which took me a few hours. It is very tiring; However it did look good. Black is a nice color when clean. Black is a hard color to keep nice. I would not buy black car again unless it was on a car that was NOT my daily driver & garage kept.

Black color is very nice after you wash the car. All bling bling and sh*t but give it a few years and you would wish you want another color

black is sexy. PERIOD. i have an 07 BO G35 coupe and i love it. (that said about a billion times). BUT.. yes there is a BUT. sometimes i wish i got a different color (such as silver [forgive me for the unproper name]) ONLY because you can see the shape of the G35 better with lighter colors. and damn... it is sexy. my advice is just get the black cause bottom line... youll love it. and... im lazy as **** to clean my car, but i just go get my oil changed very often and my dealership washes my car so im coo

why do you let the dealer wash your car? they always add swirls to the paint,

i only let them wash it the first time when i bought the car....never again

Don't get a black car from Nissan/Infiniti. Maybe a black BMW or a Mercedes, a company who uses quality paint, you know? Unlike Infiniti who uses the softest pain i've seen on any car, it scratches so easily, and don't even talk about swirls. I gave up.
