Zaino - Uh Oh!

Okay so I purchased the Zaino cleaner and leather conditoner as many suggested on here.

I first applied the cleaner throughout the car and then waited for it to dry. I then went back and applied the conditoner..

It didnt seem quite right so I waited till the next AM.. and I noticed my seats were very blotchy and uneven it looked horrible..

What happened?

I went back with a damp rag and wiped it down.. it seems okay but I am afraid to apply it again..

Also I really didnt like the smell of it either and since then my new car smell never came back

maybe you put too much on. I like to apply it with a small rag and rub it in so there is no excess conditioner sitting on the leather. If after a couple of minutes you can still see it on the surface use another rag to remove it and buff it in. Seems like you just used too much. You don't need to drench it, just a nice even thin coating to moistureize the leather.

I don't use a leather cleaner either, it dries it out and can cause cracking. Usually the conditioner and a bit of rubbing will clean it up nicely.

I use both the cleaner and conditioner, seems to work great for me. I usually use one spray of the cleaner per seat.

The smell is a little annoying at first, but after a couple of days the smell won't be so strong and will smell like the new car smell.

did you read the instructions on how to apply the cleaner? did you just spray it on and let it sit? I've had no problems with my graphite interior.

been using it for 2 1/2 years and no problems here, sounds like you used to much.

what i do is: after applying the cleaner, i take a damp towel and wipe down the seat, then wait for it to dry and then apply a small layer of the conditioner.

this keeps them clean and shiny for at least 2-3 months

i'm pretty sure you are supposed to wipe the seats after you spray the cleaner.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Apply Z-9 one section at a time and work the solution into a nice lather with a sponge. If your leather is heavily soiled, use an upholstery (interior detailing) brush.

2. When finished scrubbing, be sure to remove all cleaner from the surface with a damp towel.

3. Do not use an excessive amount or allow cleaner to dry without wiping.

4. Dry the leather with a clean, dry cotton towel.

5. Allow your leather to dry thoroughly before applying Z-10.
