The Meguiar's M105 and M205 should be a big help.

After I kept claying and claying, I decided to try soaking the hard sap with the P21S Total Auto Wash. I soaked it for a few minutes and clayed it. After a few rounds, the sap was completely gone. I didn't have any of the other items you mentioned other than the clay bar and I have to finish the car this week (I only work on cars at night after work/dinner).

Also, can I get your thoughts on the Nanoskin product vs. clay bar? Since it takes me such a long time to clay, I'm very interested in the Nanoskin. Have you used it yourself?

Thanks
Vince

Thank you for the update and I'm thrilled the polish worked for you!

On my G I have many dings on the bumper from rocks and such. Take a look

Not too sure how well you can see it, I can post a closer picture if needed. My question is, can I just get a paint pen from the dealership or like autozone (With the right color code of course) and fix it? Or should I use the Mr.Colorchip if that would be better?

Also, I purchased the car used, and it looks like the previous owner made somebody mad. There's a pretty large scratch from a key on the driver side door about 13" long. A friend told me about this injector(?) I could use to fill it in with paint? Any advice on fixing that would be helpful, thanks!

I also saw a video about Applied Color? Not sure if that's familiar to you, just wondering what you think about it. Thanks again!

Sorry to hear about the chips and that scratch. I would first clay and polish those areas to see if anything can be removed that way. Assuming it doesn't you can then pick up a touch up kit of any kind that may help. Unfortunately sometimes making brand new paint and the old paint match flawlessly is not always easy. Sometimes poor work looks worse than the original condition with chips. Contacting a professional may be an option as well. I don't do much touch up work so I'm not an expert on what option will work best for you here, sorry I don't have more info.

Thanks Greg, what sealant/wax do you recommend for my Serengeti Sand sedan. Are there any that do better for gold/beige colored cars in your experience? I am most looking for gloss/wet look and slickness but not as much concerned with durability.

There are tons of great options for you. The Klasse All In One (AIO) is a good pick as it helps clean, shine and protect in one step. My other favorite would be the Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection! Both are incredible and deliver a great shine with great protection. Hope this helps!

Hi Greg

Can I get your opinion on the nanoskin vs. clay bar? Which are you using now?

Thanks

Both work great in their own right. I think the NanoSkin AutoScrub Fine Foam Pad is a great way to achieve a similar result in far less time. The only down side is that some tight spaces are tough to get to and you need to use a lot of the NanoSkin Glide, but you can dilute this product 7:1 (water:glide) so it's a great value still. A clay bar may be a bit more thorough and a little safer but the time savings are huge with the AutoScrub.

Check out Greg Gellas from www.SignatureDetailing.com article talking about the AutoScrub Pads here - http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...crub-foam-pad/. Lots of good info in there and if you have any questions please let me know!

Hi Greg. I'm from Arizona so my car has seen quite a bit of sun since 2006. The hood has some decently bad sun damage. The rest of the car looks great, but the hood always has a foggy look to it that is never shiny. I have only had the car for 10 months and it was like this since i've had it so I am unsure of how the previous owner kept it. I was wondering if you recommended getting it repainted, or a certain product or something. Thanks!

What is the best way to remove polish residue that may have built up between door jambs, fenders and the edge of the hood? I seem to have this in several locations and I cannot remove it easily.

Thanks.

Thanks Greg. While I did not take your recomendations, I did just place an order with you for some chemical guys products based on a lot of good reviews. I am going to try the blacklight topped with some XXX paste wax then some V7 spray on top of that. I'm pretty excited. Thanks for the great information on your site.

Interesting problem I assume it has been oxidized by the sun, but it's tough to say for certain. I would also check and see if the engine is possibly generating excessive heat that is somehow affecting the hood. Assuming you don't think there is any clear coat failure start off with a light polish and then move up to a medium/heavy one as needed. It should clear up oxidation, ultra fine scratches, swirls, etc. The Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish M205 is a very good light polish and then the Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compound M105 is one of my favorite more aggressive polishes I use for more noticeable correction. If you have any questions about these products please let me know!

Hi Greg

I'll be getting a new car for my wife soon (Honda Fit). Do you have any recommendations on any types of preparation I should be doing? I know the car will come kind of clean from the dealer, but was wondering if you suggest we do something when the car is at it's cleanest.

Thanks
Vince

Hello! Last week i went downtown to a car event, had a bunch of thugs out front of a liquor store, started throwing rocks at my car. Got a few door dings and a few chips down to the metal. I was hoping you can give me some tips on what to do. i was gonna try and follow the steps in the thread below.

https://g35driver.com/forums/care-de...polishing.html

If you think that is my best option as far as doing this myself.

The thing is since i'm down to the metal, just painting layers wouldn't work very well. i was gonna use some 3M filler putty and then paint it, sand it, polish it. kinda mixing the method applied colors did, except they didn't sand after painting i would a bit then polish to get the paint all level with the rest of the existing paint. using these two methods would this be my best bet? thanks for any tips or information you can give me!
