I bought the 30 ml bottle thinking that's what I would use. I hardly used half a bottle. So a little goes a long way.

I hate the bottle it comes in and the top they supply. It needs to come in a squeeze bottle or something else that it can be dispensed out of easier.

OK so my questions would be after the 5 day cure time would adding a wax give it any extra benefits? Because this is a hard coating on top of the paint how would you strip off the product if you wanted to? Any products that I should stay away from?
Wax won't give any benefits as far as protection, but it will bring out an ever better shine. If you wanted to strip it off you could try isopropyl alcohol and if that doesn't take it off then I'd just let it run its course. What products to stay away from what?

I just wanted to know what products I should stay away from that might strip off the coating. It sounds like if I have to use alcohol anything will be safe.

ohh gotcha, yeah just read the directions for how much on some shampoo's, like Chemical Guys Citrus Wash is designed to strip wax in higher concentrations so pay attention to the label.

have you tried meguiars plast-x headlight remover? If that doesn't work try meguiars M205 or M105 polishes with an applicator pad. If you have a buffer you can use on of those polishes with a light cutting pad and get better results. Then seal the lights with a sealant. If none of that works you do a light wetsanding but i think you should be able to buff them out.

Very similar products and I love them both. The protection is great from both and so is the appearance so it's mainly personal preference. Blackfire keeps raising their MAP pricing so we have to keep raising them as well therefore the Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Sealant may be a better choice for the money.

To be honest I don't refinish metals so while I have a guess of what I'd try it's not my area of expertise. A wheel repair shop may have the exact answer for you.

also, any waxes or products that will keep cats away? lol
I've actually had both of these requests before and I'm not sure of any products that would be particularly effective in these situations. I would try some different combinations of sealant and wax to see what helps you the most. Another option would be to try some of the semi-permanent coatings like the new 22ple VX1 Pro Glass Coating. It's very popular and offers very durable protection with a great shine!

Black G35 in bad condition...

I have a 2005 black G35x which I have neglected for about 2.5 years. I live by the ocean so I have quite a lot of oxidation, and rear bumper looks like the clear coat is coming off. I am going to buy a pc 7424xp and try to repair the paint before all the clear coat starts pealing. I was thinking about going with the following, any suggestions?

Meguiars M105 w/ orange pad
Meguiars M205 w/ black pad

Other questions...

1. Is this enough do you think?
2. What sealant should I use?
3. I am trying to do this on a budget so would the 8oz meguiars be enough or do I need to buy the 24oz?
4. Would 1 pad of each be alright or should I use 2?

I'm not the professional here but my 2 cents, your combination is fine, make sure to clay the car first. I use Menzerna sealant with the blue pad. for M205, I use the white pad. I would go with about 3+ pads for both M105 and M205. For the sealant, you can go with 1 or 2 pads. 8 oz should be fine, you pay less compared to the bigger bottle, but more per ounce.

I honestly don't do much with wheel repairs beyond cleaning, shining and protecting. I normally start off with a good metal polish like the P21S Finish Restorer. This can help remove contaminants, brake dust, oxidation and ultra fine imperfections. If the scratch remains and appears faint you could try to keep treating it. If you have a clear coated finish you could try to polish it (ie Meguiar's M205 and M105). If that doesn't work you could try a light wet sanding followed by the polishes I mentioned.

Another option is to seek out a wheel repair shop if it's a deeper imperfection.

Good luck!

Greg

Unfortunately we don't. As best I know no product really does an amazing job of hiding imperfections. Glazes do a good job of this and sealants and waxes do this to some extent. Your best bet is to simply just polish the surface and help remove the marks for good and then apply a sealant or wax for protection.
