Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

Ok I'm sure ya'll know all about it but i'm new so bear with me.

This thing has revolutionized how I wash my car. Unfortunatly since the G was my first new car, I wasn't aware about how the drive through car washes put the spiderweb scratches in the finish.

Anyone else use one? And no, i don't sell them.

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

I bought it with the 5 dollar off coupon and now Im in the process of returning it...honestly I like using my wash soap and mitt...and finishing with my water blade. The waterblade makes quick work of drying, the Autodry takes longer to finish then a retarded blind kid trying to hit the toiltet. Also I dont have to buy filters and their *special* soap all the time...

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

i've read in the detailing forum about other people using their own soap after the special soap runs out (but still using the mr clean filter) and the wash is still spotless and nice.

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

I live in Phoenix AZ and have really hard water here. The 1st time I washed my car here and used the cali waterblade I have used for 6 mos now I couldnt believe how crappy my car looked. I loved the cali blade in Tucson but here it looked like a 15 year olds pimple riddled face from the hard water.

I decided to give the Mr Clean thing a try and was very surprised at how good the results were. I still use a micro fiber towel to wipe the areas down which show a small amount of spots "its tough to get all the hard water off" but I am a believer now especially if you live in a area that has really hard water.

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

I use the Autodry on my black coupe. Works great as long as you either use the filtered water a section at a time or keep the whole car consistenly wet so the non-filtered water doesn't have a change to dry. I'm using my own soap after the initial soap ran out. The Autodry is great as it's one less time I have something (even a microfiber towel or waterblade) touch the paint.

Whatever happened to the psychotic auto freaks who uses electric leaf blowers to dry their cars? When I pull out those things from the trunk of my car at the local DIY car wash, I get lots of stares.

Dawn soap and a electric leafblower here. =) Then a sweet coat of wax. (or two, or three. Ok maybe four...)

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

I previously replied to Mr. Clean post in the Eye Candy section saying that I used Toro leaf blower. However, I hadn't tried it WITH the Mr. Clean wash. It doesn't work well. However, it works great with a well Zaino'ed car as all the water beads totally off the car. With Mr. Clean the blower just moves the water sheen (i.e. spreads it out) over the car. Also, the Mr. Clean seems to stay on the car even after a standard Zaino wash (anyone else notice this?).

Bottom line, Mr. Clean works well for those in between washes but nothing beats a Zaino wash/finish. And yes, I'm psychotic about cleaning my G and don't care who thinks I'm nuts for using a leaf blower to dry it.

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

I just bought one a WallyMart ant tried it on my 03 Black coupe. It worked VERY well. I washed it in the shade and then put it in the garage and went to lunch. When I returned....she was beautiful. I had previously quickly rinsed off some concrete dust and when it dried.....it was screwed!
Water spots from hell.....so I have to say it worked for me.

Re: Mr. Clean Autodry for the dark G's

Used it last night and I was impressed. Followed instructions and rinsed with filter and watch Red Wings go down in flames, came back to my car and it was clean and dried.

But then again I haven't washed my car for 2 months, so the results might be a bit bias.
