Thanks for the responses guys, but does anyone know if those last noticabley longer than FMJ? Just don't want to switch unless it truly does last a bit longer. Thanks!

The answer is fairly subjective and open to many factors.

What is your definition of lasts? What weather conditions is your car subjected to? Does it stay inside? How often do you wash and how? How many coats of sealant? to name a few

Good points Deane.
I would think most products last pretty good if its kept indoors and in mild temperate climates, as compared to always parked outside in sun, rain, snow etc

^Yeah, I think I remember Kevin posting that FMJ lasts about 2-3 months. My experience is it's much longer although I also have a several coats of wax over top. The wax only seems to last maybe a month or before another coat seems to liven up the paint.

On H's car I use just FMJ and it seems to have protection feeling the smoothness and water beading for about 6 months. The car is outside all the time.

I'm sure my Zaino treated car lasts that long for sure, and it is outside.
Sounds like they are comparable products.

There seems to be a lot of people on here that say Zaino lasts a long time. It probably does last longer than FMJ.

I've got to do H's car in the next few weeks before winter hits!

I'm a little confused. I'm asking if it would last longer than FMJ on the same car in the same conditions. Do different sealants work better under certain temps, how often they are washed and how many coats? If that is what you are asking, I am looking for a sealant that lasts longer than FMJ in 80-90F, parked outside, washed about once a week and one coat of sealant.

I didn't know all these factors made such a big difference as to one sealant lasting longer than others. Thanks for the help!

Is this the Zaino sealant that you guys are talking about?

Sounds like it's really easy to use. Anyone tried this stuff vs FMJ on warm weather, parked outside, washed about once a week and one coat.

You're welcome.

I'm saying it's hard to compare sealants since they'll never have the exact same conditions etc unless you did half the car with one and half with another. Various factors will impact performance and that likely varies with brand.

Zaino is definitely reputed to be very long lasting. I don't have first hand knowledge on whether it will perform longer than FMJ though.

I agree with RBull above, and look forward to his long term comparison on his wife's vehicle which endures similar conditions as mine.
OOPs, sorry Deane, I mis-read your post and thought you were using Zaino on H's car this time. Sorry bout that

I have never used FMJ, but discovered Zaino from friends here on this site. Since then I have been a Zaino junkie. I can't imagine anything lasting much longer than it in my conditions so I have stuck with it.
