Volk Dish Cleaning

Hey,

Ive searched for thread on cleaning Volks but there isn't alot of consistancy... alot of 'dont dos' but have yet to find something that works!

The guy at the volk dealer told me to use jewelery cleaner, then put a coat of quick wax over it. He said he did it on his and they looked new. He also said the dish is anodized stainless steel... anyone confirm this?

If this is true, I asked him is something like CLR would fix the problem. He said he never even thought of that.

Please post suggestions that WORK!

Thanks~

I heard that the safest route to go is to use soap and water, never heard of anyone using CLR though. And yes the lips are anodized.

Volk Dish Inquiry

Ive searched for thread on cleaning Volks but there isn't alot of consistancy... alot of 'dont dos' but have yet to find something that works! And not alot of people look on the detailing thread it seems so I thought id post in the general discussion.

CLR is probably safe, I have used it on other anodized metals and it didn't do anything bad.

Brasso would also work for a good cleaning/polish.

I have vellano wheels, and they recommend Eagle One nevr-dull for the chrome.

I just use mothers wheel polish, or blue magic and polish it a few times, then put a coat of wax. Yes the dish is anodized.

that is nice. I'm also searching around for info on how to protect Volk lips. So what clay bar did you use? Did the clay bar scratch the surface?

White spots after the water dried out? Why dont you guys just use a towel or some kind of napkins to wipe them off while they are still wet? I do that on my wheels, not on the lips though because they might be scratched but on the spokes is fine.
