Question To Wax or not to Wax?

Should I clean with Wheel Wax before mounting or should i just stick with Soap & Water? There are so many horror stories, im trying to stay clear of any issues...

I use Poorboys World Wheel Sealant and it works great on my Volks.

Wheel wax is safe to use on any coating for wheels.

Wheel wax isnt abrasive or corrosive, so you should put some protection on them before you mount. Id watch out for any chemical cleaners that would damage the finish.

Just quality soap (i.e. Meguiars, etc) & water weekly is my cleaner of choice for rims.

you only have to be affraid of wheel cleaners, any wheel wax will ony help protect the wheel its worth protecting them while they are still new. Just make sure you regularly rinse the brake dust off cuz thats what eats into the wheels and wax cant really help you on that.

Yep, it's safe. Sealants work better than waxes due to a higher melting point, just rewax every month-ish and clean with simple car wash soap(not dawn, that will strip the wax) and water.

Thanks for the responses. What's a recommended Sealant, Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze?

^ That sealant is for the paint, not the rims.

I recommend Poorboys World Wheel Sealant , it has worked great with my wheels.

wheel wax is hard to wipe off. Use Honda Polish or Wash 'n Wax. or a sealant like blackfire wet diamond all metal sealant.

hey would that work on chrome wheels like this because these rims are a pain in the *** to clean and once they are clean they get dirty so fast i need something to help so i wont be at it every day
