5 day old G when should I wax?
5 day old G when should I wax?
Hey Guys,
Well my G is only 5 days old and it is already gotten a significant amount of salt on it and I wanted to wash it this weekend. Is it too early to put a layer of wax on it? If not is there a specific brand I should use? Thanks

There's no reason at all to wait. While the cars do come with a layer of wax, knowing the dealers it's a cheap wax. Hell, those cheap bastards filled my car up with Regular Octane.
I Zaino'd my car right after I got it and I'm glad I did. I put two coats of Z2, and two coats of Z6 on, and since then I've washed it at least 5 times with Meguiers Gold Class followed by a coat of Z6. I'm a salesman and I drive over 2K miles each month. The Zaino makes her look brand new after every wash, and only needs to be Z2'd a couple of times per year. Can't beat that.

about 5 days ago. The paint from the factory is fully cured as they bake it. no need to wait at all before you wax. The sooner you get a protecteive coat on the better. I try to wax as soon as possible when I get a new car. oh yeah, give Zaino a try I love it. it's a bit pricy when you get the kit, and the first time you apply it it'll take you a whole day since there are so many steps involved, but the shine is incredible and it seems to last a long time too.

Wax your car now, the elements are fighting against you constantly. Your car was cleaned no doubt at the dealership but that doesn't mean much, trust me I know people who detail cars at dealerships. I would wax it now with whatever products you think will work best. Here is a good list to choose from if your looking for some high quality wax http://secure.detailedimage.com/Merc...egory_Code=Wax .
