Car Washing and Drying
Hey guys, I'm just wondering what kind of products you guys use to dry your cars. The ones I use aren't very effective at absorbing the water so I"m looking for other options. I've heard of the Big Blue II Towel from a member on here but would prefer being able to purchase it in some local store as opposed to doing it online. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a Black/Black sedan and have several swirl marks on my car, I've searched the forums and found some pretty good results as to how to remove them, but would like some more input on which are the best products to use and what they should be combined with. Thanks again for the input!

After a thorough and detailed washing, I use the Absorber to dry my car. This will remove all but the smallest traces of water. I then use a couple of microfiber towels to remove all traces of water prior to any other applications.
I have worked at two detail shops over the past two summers and what I have learned is too first use some sort of water blade to get as much water off the car as possible(I use the California Water Blade), then I use an Absorber which I bought from Wal-Mart.

I use Waffle Weave microfibers like these:

The meguiars water magnet is also a good choice and can be found at most auto stores. However, the Pak Shak towel seems to do a better job drying. I find that it takes two large waffle weaves to properly dry a car. As with the other methods, be careful not to trap anything between the towel and the car. However, the waffle weaves do have some thickness to them to cushion some particles and thus provide a *bit* more insurance.

I take the sprayer off the end of the hose and let the plain old hose end sheet the water off the car. If you have wax on the car, most of the water will just come right off the car. Then, just use a microfiber. If you want one that you can get locally, go to W-mart and get the large blue MF towel that they sell for about $6.
Too get the scratches off and make the G look it's best you will need the following:
A PC
A good polish/compound- I use 3M p/n 39003 and 39009
Klasse AIO
2 coats of Klasse SG
P21S or S100
The process on my 06' Black G took me all weekend. I need to find a better washing technique. After carefully inspecting my micro fiber towels, I noticed minute size particle stucked on the towels.

I second the Autopia plug.
Any of these product lines are good. Most of them have every car product you could possibly need/want.
Poorboy's
Menzerna
Optimum
Meguiar's
As for drying, the Meguiar's water magnet runs around $7 and if u got two of them then you're set for drying.

I've used the Cali WB for years with no problems...works fantastic for me. Follow up with either a MF towel or Absorber for the leftovers.
Also, a little trick you can do after you wash is to remove the nozzle from the hose and hold the water stream very close to the paint. The water sheeting will actually pull most (90%+) of the standing water off the car. Then all you need is a MF or Absorber.

Thanks for all the information guys, really appreciate it. I'll buy one of these immediately after I make my final decision about which polishing products and such to buy.
Thanks again!
