one critical component missing on the lists is track location... not only will that tell you who is fastest at what track; it will also explain why some guys ET are faster or slower than anothers...

As we all know - altitude and ambient temps make as much difference as any other consideration (tires, weight, etc)...

With a Z-tube (adds no power), 03 sedan 5AT went 14.32@97.7mph in near sea level air.

The 350GT emblem threw them off for a bit, they eventually started using G35. I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner of the G35S that I ran this run, but he was on the track all day.

You may have forgotten to consider that I was spinning the tires past the 330' mark. That makes a huge difference in ET. I even raced Tray one run and missed a gear, he beat me ET wise though I had a much higher trap speed.

I am ultra disappointing, thank you.

I still think it's not bad for the first time out with this car on crappy street tires and a greasy track. Hey, it was the best I could muster today with this car. Better luck next time right?

Let me put it to you this way… a TT VQDE running mid to high 12s on a good track with good condition is absolutely within reason… an NA VQDE sedan – unless its completely gutted, completely built, or squeezin’ it aint happenin’… even with all three it’s a feat.

So yes, I’m saying I don’t believe an NA VQDE sedan is running 13.2 – sorry Trey, I just don’t buy it… unless some or all of what I mentioned is involved.

He and I ran once. I ran a 13.4x@103 to his 13.9x@113 - I don't remember the specifics and the slip isn't in front of me. All I know is that on this track, the cars on street tires were asked to run in the left lane, and the DR/slick cars were asked to run in the right lane.

On that particular run, I believe I cut a low 2.0 versus his 2.3??. At the eighth, he outtrapped me by 4mph. On the big end, he outtrapped me by 10mph.

Considering he missed a gear, I cut a better sixty by a third of a second, and the fact that he didn't get traction till 330', what's so hard to believe?

By the way - today I had back-to-back-to-back runs of 13.314, 13.353, and 13.274. That last run was exactly one hundredth off my previous best a year ago.

Presently the car is an 05 6MT, with 66,000 miles. I'm running the stock airbox with k&n panel filter, motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, stock revup lower plenum, ztube, ichiba headers, kinetix resonated test pipes, first-gen stillen sedan exhaust, utec(still tuned for the mrev and the stillen airbox), clutchmasters stage1 clutch, jwt flywheel, nismo z suspension, stillen sways, custom oil catch can, and DR's at 18psi.

I take out my floormats, front and rear, trunk mat and spare(I leave the jack in the car). I am 5'8", 165 pounds, and I launch at about 6 grand. I short shift second gear, shift into third at 7200rpm, and into 4th at 7300rpm.

If you don't believe me, PM sharif@forgedperformance. He hasn't ever seen my car run, but he knows what's done to my car. In fact, there are probably 100 people on here and on my350z that have seen my car at one of sharif's meets.

Or you could ask anybody that ran against me at silver dollar raceway in Georgia in April of 2007. That was part of znationals. On that day, only two g/z's were faster than myself: one z with a supercharger, and one g coupe with a 75 shot of nitrous.

Or you can ask ibelonginprison, or captg35, or 3fiddy(he's on my350z, the guy's name is ray).

Or you can call my local dyno guy, a dude named Blake Walker at walkerdynotune.

Or, you can stop hating, give up on running at high altitude, and go find a real track with nice conditions. I bet on DR's, in good conditions, you would run low 13's too.

no hate... just realistic... something magical is happening if you are launching at 6K... and its not anywhere near street capability...

As for me finding a "real track"... as with dynos, track conditions are all relative… there are lots of real fast NA cars here and I am within hundredths of the fastest but beating most (basically all) – on the other hand, my car would not run low 13s anywhere… And YES, I am implying yours isn’t faster than what I’ve run.

So, either you’re not fessing up to all that you are running or I simply don’t believe that you are running 13.2 – not without some (or all) of what I mentioned in post a few above).

I’ve withheld from posting in this thread because its so futile (considering you are asking people from all over the world to post ETs and claming scanned time slips are valid – its bogus on many levels but that’s another thread)…

if people feel the need to lie about their times, then let them lie and photoshop their time slips and what not. all trey is doing is providing a comparisson, which i find VERY helpful.

thanks trey.

He's trapping 116 MPH and ~12.3 E.T looks possible with an ideal 60ft for a TT VQ35 with sticky tires.

Mike, I don't see any reason for Trey to lie about anything. He's posted several video clips of his run. And his driving skills are really evident in those clips.

I think its more than plausible. Sub-2.0 60 ft's, 6MT with excellent shifts, the right NA mods with a good tune, with a great track and good conditions are all in favor of a mid-to-low 13 second G35.

The only reason we don't see that more often is because its rare to find all of those variables I just posted above in one. Either some are excellent drivers in crappy tracks/conditions, or mediocre drivers in tracks with great potential, along with the fact that not many G35 drivers drag race their cars (etc, etc).

You would rather not have a list whatsoever? I think its more helpful than "useless". People are interested in what G35's can run. And though it shouldn't be used as a direct comparison without taking into account the many variables that go into these results, it still gives people an idea of what the G35 is capable of.

As of now, I haven't felt the need to doubt people of their timeslips. If there has actually been someone who has edited their timeslip for recognition, then they are pathetic

There are a few characteristics of the VQ that are usually uniform in either modded or stock VQ's. If something is unusually off, then there is reason to doubt. Someone who would even think about fabricating their times must really suck at drag racing.
