Auto vs Manual 1/8 Mile Video (HD)

Not sure what the time was for that run, but we were both pulling 9.3-9.7's on that side (sh!tty side, no track prep, slippery launch pad) with 2.3-2.4 60ft's while hot lapping and were most likely heat soaked. I was spun the beginning of 2nd gear on some runs. That's how sh!tty it was.
We were doing about 5-10 runs back to back.
On the other track (cooler temps, better prepped track, after cool down) I pulled a 2.101 60ft, 9.1, launching around 2500 rpm's. Equals out to about an estimated 14.2 on a 1/4 mile which sounds about right.

I'd have to see reaction times and 60 foots to really make the call. Also, that hot air intake and heavy 19" rims are doing that 5AT no favors what so ever.
There is not a huge difference in the 1/4 mile performance of 6MT and 5AT G or Z. It's about .1 to .2 seconds in favor of the 6MT assuming the 6MT driver knows how to drive and the 5AT driver understands the correct way to launch and shift the 5AT. I've never lost to a 6MT G or Z at my strip, but I'm certain I'd be quicker in a 6MT that my 5AT. For reference, my 5AT sedan did a low 14.3@98mph with a 2.15 60' with a Z-tube. That's in line, if not better, than most every stock 6MT that's posted their runs on this site.

there are vid of AT beating comparably modded MT too... in fact one race happened to be AT sedan vs MT coupe but also AT sedan vs AT sedan... (all faster than the ETs in this vid btw)...
For those that keep squawking about AT cant beat MT... I've managed many, many times (in fact, all but one time). And yes it was before cams & headers… after cams & headers I’ve beaten G37s and 07+ sedans… so you can stop your forum racing and assumptions.
