For most higher revving motors with decent powerbands, it's usually shift at redline until you get to the 3, 4, and 5th gears. That can change a bit, but usually only by a few hundred rpms here and there.
How am I comparing modded REVUP's to modded non REVUPS? Stock REVUP's have a higher redline and fuel cut (7200 RPM).

Simply raising the rev limiter would not be the simple fix. The REVUP has the advantage on the high end. Stock for stock, the power drop off is more noticeable in the non REVUP vs the REVUP.

As for holding shifts longer, if the REVUP shifts at 7200 rpm, and the non REVUP shifts at 6700 rpm, who is going to land higher in the powerband? Gearing is the same with the 3.5 FD (6MT).

If the REVUP lands 3rd gear at 5000 rpm and the non REUP lands in 4500 rpm, who will be higher in the powerband? Look at the difference in HP at 4500 rpm's and 5000 rpm's.

Stock for stock, the REVUP has a slightly less drop-off at high RPM's and lands shifts higher in the powerband.

The revup is the newer version of the motor, and is only available on the 6mt. So obliviously, in theory, it's suppose to be a better "performer" than the non-revup motor.

Also, the revup has the C-VTC or whatever on BOTH intake and exhaust cams. Unlike the non-revups.

It's not a fav among tuners. It's takes longer to tune because all the Revup compatible EMS's take control of both intake and exhaust.
