REVUP 6MT vs Non REVUP 6MT Drag Racing *VIDEO*

REVUP was stock with just a K&N drop in filter.

The Non REVUP was equipped with a Motordyne 5/16 spacer and Fujitsubo Exhaust.

Riding in both, you can really feel the REVUP stretch it's legs a lot more in the upper RPM's.

Nice race, but I think that 03 non-revup was slowed down by its aftermarket wheels.

Having more HP just compensated for the slight lost of torque, almost like a see-saw effect with those two parameters between the non-revup and revup.

IMO, non-revup and revup is about the same in performance, then again, I could be just bias

I was under the impression that they perfromed the same stock vs stock, however the REVUP motor responds a bit better to mods. Also having a higher Redline probably helps as well.

The REVUP also has aftermarket wheels which are heavier than the OEM 19's.

In the end, yes. It all comes down to driver ability and whoever launches in the groove.

The REVUP just has the ability to stretch it legs up top and hold it gear longer with a higher redline. That would result in the REVUP being able to land in a higher RPM in the next gear.

This was the same outcome between 06 REVUP 350z's and 03-04 NonREVUP 350z's. The REVUP is more responsive.

I have done enough drag runs to also notice a significant difference between the revups and non-revups (assuming both are 6MT for simplification). When I was stock, I would usually start creeping away from a non-revup in 3rd gear. It was about the same when I started racing other non-revups with about the same modifications as mine (at the time).

It's no DE-HR difference obviously. But enough to notice.

DE (non rev-ups) absolutely dominate the Rev-ups in "stock" top drag results and "bolt-ons" lists......sorry, but it is conclusive and decisive in favor of non rev-ups.

P.S. No rev-up bolt-on has ever gone quicker than my car .

This is only the result of OUR testing done. I haven't seen much video's of non REVUP's and REVUP racing side by side at the same track. With that said, non revup's are also more common.

The first REVUP on the stock list on my350Z is only a 14.02@101 . The first REVUP on the n/a list a G35 sedan. I wouldn't use the timeslip thread as cold hard evidence of which is faster. I think the differences falls down to the driver to be honest.

We took nearly 2 stock G's and raced next to each other at the same track. If anyone wants to make thier own video, they are more than welcome and share their results. The results could have gone either way. Keep in mind, these we 2 cars were nearly stock. Anyone else have video's?

05 6MT G's are REVUP's.

By using YOUR logic, we'll just say non revups are .3 faster at different tracks on differents days. I guess all tracks are the same and DA's don't matter. Your more than welcome to do what we did and take two stock Z's or G's at the same track on the same day. We'll see if non REVUP's are in fact .4 faster across the board. Aren't non REVUP more common?

Curb weight and 60 ft play a factor?
