I wouldn't be so quick to call the Stang heavy and slow as hell. The 05+ Mustang GT weighs less than a G35 coupe and makes only 2hp to 20hp more than the G35 coupe yet the GT pulls mid 13s quite easily which is solidly .5 seconds quicker than any stock G35 coupe or sedan.

 

Stangs have more torque as well. stoplight races don't really prove much. gotta take it to the track

 

A hardtop coupe??? Does the coupe come any other way???

So let me get this right... 03 G35 sedan was lighter than the 03 G35 coupe, claimed less horsepower than the coupe and was just as quick at the track. Now the 05-06 G35 sedan was equal in weight to the 05-06 G35 coupe, also just as quick at the track. The quickest stock sedan in the 1/4 was by trey hutcheson at 13.79, which was in extremely awesome conditions. I have yet to hear any coupe running that stock, period!!! That 13.79 still isn't quick enough to beat the new Mustang GT. Until you get to the track, I'm calling BS, or maybe you really did beat that 90 year old lady in the automatic mustang .

There has been less than a handful of G35 running what some of the slow 350z are running, and that really boils down to perfect track conditions. Just for argument sake, a 350z and g35 coupe have the same 298 hp, right? Which one weighs less??? The 350z, right? Simple power to weight ratios.

 

Thanks for the mention, but I'm not the fastest sedan. Check out ZXIMan. And one of the coupes in the National G Club has posted better times than me. I don't know how stock he was either. But he ran a 13.7@102 flat.

And BTW - I'm not stock. I've got cats, mrev, ztube, k&n, and the stillen exhaust. They haven't really dyno'd that well on my car, but still, it wouldn't be fair to claim that I'm stock. When I ran that time, I had the ztube, k&n, and the cats.

 

Im guessing the other guy cant drive, I've raced my brothers AT Mustang GT vs. my G35 coupe AT and on a roll I took on him first and just started coming back quick, my only mod is an Injen intake

 

Man, I didn't know that the cats were on at the time. My bad, but I didn't really consider the ztube and k&n as something that would really improve your 1/4 mile time that much. I know that when you put the stillen exhaust, you didn't really gain anything is that right? Your so modest, ha ha.
