Trans. ?

Bought the wife a new 06 G35 sedan. While driving back home from a trip it seemed to me that the car was not shifting into 5th. I was crusing at about 75-78 mph and running close to 3000 rpm's. Does anyone know if this is normal for this car?

What was displayed in the gear display window? If it said "5". it was in 5th. When the trans doesn't shift for one reason or another, the display doesn't change either.

120 mph? Ha ha.

5th kicks in at about 40 mph! The tranny will shift up right away in D mode.

(H-townG35, I assume you're talking about the auto).

Going about 80 at 3000 rpm sounds about right for 5th gear. You can always put it into MM mode and actually see what gear / rpm ratio correlation is.

Keep in mind that when you shift into MM, the car auto-downshifts - so it will at most show "4", until you manually up shift.
