Clutch gone bad! Need desperate advice!
Clutch gone bad! Need desperate advice!
Hi all, I just purchased an 04 black 6mt coupe about 3 months ago at 19k miles. Being the new stick shift driver along with newbie roommates, my car is in desperate need to change the clutch already after about 2.5k miles of very heavy learning (quite a horrible mistake to learn and let my roommate learn on my first car I must say), but I have to deal with the situation at hand now.
I experienced massive slipping on my way back from Chicago so I'm really quite lost as to what it is I should do as of now. I've been reading up on this forum, but the posts are listed quite a while back, so I was hoping you guys would have some advice as to which brand I should get if I am looking for an after market clutch kit such as the ACT and JWT. I'm not really looking at modifying my car too much so anything that is recommended for decency and durability would be appreciated. It would also nice if you guys could shed some light on clutch+flywheel combos in my situation. Is there a need to get the combo, just for the sake of having the components work better with each other?

any gain seen from catching better will have some cost in how easy it is to drive.
you may consider just going back to OE nissan equipment if you're not planning to drive it that hard. personally I've felt that the OE clutch is fairly effective under spirited driving.
