G35 6MT
or if it's slipping really bad, you just have to shift normally and if your RPM's first rise and then drop, then you have clutch slippage.

At 60,000miles I went TT and put on 3,000miles since with dyno and drag days still no slippage but I have a Nismo super copper mix twin plate that will go in ASAP just because I think the clutch is on borrowed time and I dont want to get home from the drag strip one day soon.

69,800 miles today and I think its still healthy. I ride the clutch for smooth up shifting and down shift at lights too.

I have 101K miles on my 03 man. trans. coupe. Everything is stock except for k&n air filter. Mostly all freeway miles. My clutch is starting to squeak as I press in and let go of clutch. Anyone know what this means.

101K on the original clutch??? It sounds like your pedal may be squeky, hit up with WD40 and see if that stops that joint from squeking. If that works just apply some grease to that joint so that it out last the WD40.

04 with 54k I think the throw out bearing might be on its way out, but the clutch still grabs perfect.

I'm so jealous of you guys with 100K+ on your clutch. My 03 has >50K and I'm getting my 3rd clutch right now.

I have an 03 6MT Sedan. My first clutch/flywheel got really shaky and shuttered really bad at 32k so I had it replaced at Holman Infiniti in Cherry Hill, NJ (Generally I like that dealership). 2nd clutch went 16K later at 48K! I started slipping a week or so ago so I nursed it until I could get it serviced. The first time it cost well over 2 Grand. It's back at Holman again. I swore I wouldn't put another OEM clutch in, but it's been there for 2 days and I don't have time to try to find another clutch and shop to install it so I'm biting the bullet and saying "F" it. It was slipping so bad I could barely get it there. I will be buying another clutch kit very soon and looking for a good shop to install it in the Philly area so I'm ready when it goes out again. I probably won't have to wait very long.

I know this isn't my fault. I don't race, ride the clutch, burn out, slip it slowly, hold it on hills or any other clutch wearing behaviors. In fact, I have been babying this clutch, partly to prevent wear, partly to see what kind of mileage I could get when gas was $4. My driving is 90% hard, stop and go, Center City Philadelphia traffic, so a little early wear wouldn't surprise me, but this is beyond ridiculous. (by the way I was getting average 14-16/tank city but with care I can get 18-22/tank pure hard city and 30 on the highway), I've had MTs most of my life and never gotten less than 90K on a clutch, be it a Honda Prelude, Dodge van, 59 Edsel (really), Buick Skylark, 69 MGB GT, Ford Mustang or anything else. I've driven lots of different sticks in my 40 years of driving and never had a clutch problem. Infiniti has no explanation, and no warranty coverage of course. It's all on me.

I have had an occasional problem that probably had a lot to do with the early wear. Had it happen a couple of times. Read about several others with the same problem. Sometimes when you are in a hurry to get into traffic, or something else where you need the car to GO, you find yourself gradually picking up speed with your clutch pedal stuck 1/2 way up (about at the friction point) and the engine screaming. Then you smell it. That horrible burnt, rotten fish smell. It happened to me twice on my 1st clutch which lasted only 32,000 miles. Happened again on my 2nd clutch. Got 16K miles on that one. I'm being a hypocrite because my car is at the dealership getting it's 3rd OEM clutch and flywheel so I'm not taking my own advise today but from now on my motto is DON'T GET REPLACEMENT OEM CLUTCHES AND FLYWHEELS for G35s. It takes nothing to burn them up and they are expensive to replace and Infiniti gives you nothing but a big bill. I love the car except for the clutch which I have read is widely disliked. These clutches have a crappy feel from the get go. They are tricky to drive, sensitive, have a high engagement point and when you really need to move, your sports car says NO, and the clutch pedal sticks at the friction point. It's like the clutch system has a built in self destruct system that will bite you when you really need the car to move. It's a death trap. When you punch the gas to get into traffic and let out the clutch you don't expect the pedal to stick and the engine to redline while the car slowly picks up speed. You expect the car to go, but at random times, with no warning and for no obvious reason, that's when it doesn't, which you can never recreate for the dealer, not that it would change their mind. They would probably just tell you it's supposed to do that or it's a "safety feature."

64,700 and still on original clutch. I'm getting a tranny replacement at the dealership, they'll let me know how my clutch is once they open it up.
