Holy rip off. What clutch/flywheel set-up? I am having an OS Giken Super Single integrated set-up put in my car and it is only 1300 (aluminum cover & stainless clutch line) and 400 for install with all new driveline fluids including rear diff.

P.S I got 90k of extreme abuse (70% city driving, 5% flat out racing, and 25% highway) out of my stock clutch.

JDM ****

Gets installed on Thurs.

Nice! I'm at 51xxx now and I'm gettin pretty close to havin problems :-D. Granted I think when I bought it was already beat up, but I learned to drive on it and I've had it for 2 years so far. We do some cruising/racing now and then, but usually I'm kinda hard on it. Plus with mods it makes it harder to get smoother shifts, usually I'm downshifting thru gears as well, thru 3rd. Would this be a good indication of slippage, or possibly a n00b with too much clutch use I'm not sure. My shifting has gotten much better after the first few months, but I still have problems slipping now and then. Im expecting it to get worse and probably replace it in the next few thousand miles. Any thoughts on clutches? I was thinkin ACT or Exedy....but whats all this about OS Giken?? :P

ACT, JWT, and Exedy are all fine. I wouldn't recomend an integrated set-up like the OS for a car that will have to deal with traffic. They tend to be either on or off with little to no slip. Even for people that have a considerable amount of manual driving under their belt is going to be a learning curve with an integrated set-up. I ran a twin plate on turbo honda back years ago. The advantage to the OS is it is about 7-10 pounds less in weight than even the lightest (prolite flywheel/clutch disk/pressure plate) ACT set-up. Whole OS set-up weighs about 5 pounds less than just the stock flywheel alone. ~25-27 pounds for the enitre assembly with the aluminum pressure plate.

There are vendors on my350 (and I would assume here) that sell the JWT combo with stainless clutch line and upgraded pivot ball for $775. Even an ACT heavy duty w/prolite is only ~1050, and generally install is ~400 +/- $50. 1700 is WAY to much. For that combo I wouldn't pay more than 1300 installed. Not to your bubble, but hopefully that puts it in perspective.

I had over 91K on my clutch system (clutch internals, master/slave cylinder, etc) before I totaled her. Clutch never slipped but burnt a little bit when I put the car on ramps.

I love it. Takes 1500-2000 rpms to get rolling without shudder, but that's too be expected. Revs extremely quickly, grabs intensely, and lighter than stock pedal pressure. Video time....

I forgot to put my little rubber stopper in between the rear cross member and the exhaust mid pipe which is causing a pretty serious rattle. I will see if I have time to get it up on a lift and sort it out tomorrow.
The smoke is from the coating on the new test-pipes....it will burn off soon.
