^RAY1370 - the clutch is replaced under warranty when your tranny is replaced. don't let them charge you for a clutch disc!

72k kms on original flywheel. tranny & clutch replaced under warranty at 64k kms. the old clutch was perfectly fine but had to be replaced (free) because my new tranny was revised and the old clutch was not compatible. the dealer said my flywheel looked like new so no need for replacement.

if driven properly, and not abused, clutches/flywheels should easily last 100k+. that is, unless there is a defect...

Thanks for confirming that. At first I thought my clutch should be replaced with the new tranny, but the service advisor @ Riverside told me that the clutch is a wear and tear part, therefore it's not covered. My old clutch was still working perfectly the time I send my car in.

So in your case they put a new clutch in because the old one was not compatible with the revised tranny.... do they also replace whatever is not compatible? Mine's an 03 sedan, and I read someone tried to do a swap to a newer tranny and found out some other parts were also needed to go with the newer tranny. Well I hope the dealership get the latest CD009 tranny for me.

By the way, is the OEM flywheel from a 05/06 coupe same as the one in 03/04 sedan?

^ all non-compatible parts get replaced under warranty along with the revised tranny. don't let them charge you for these parts...

I have 41K miles on my 05 Sedan and it is almost time for a new clutch (I bought the car used and it was nearling the last leg in terms of clutch wear when purchased). I have the install planned for next week and will be putting in our SN35SST (Super-Twin). This kit is extreme overkill for the power and mods that I am gunning for but when you work for a clutch manufacture you may as well go big right! It should be very drivable though as it utilizes the Kevlar/CSM Hybrid discs).

I will let you all know how the install and break-in period goes. I have driven our SN35PT in a 350Z (when we developed this application) but I am anxious to see what I think when using it in my daily driver. I may even take some pics and post them if any of your are interested. Let me know...Thanks and have a good weekend!

You have to have 90% highway miles. If so you probably don't use your clutch as often per mile as most.

yeah 90% hwy alright. What about Boston to Lowell hwy? Regular work day 45min+ bumpers to bumpers traffic, does that still count as hwy mileage?

Well folks, we just finished the install of our SN35SST on my 05 G35 Sedan and I will have updates for you, pics and all tomorrow. I will tell you that my stock disc was worn so much that the relief cuts that are normally found in organic discs were almost imperceptible. At any rate I will try to get a complete post together tomorrow and show you the stock parts, our parts, and the generall installation. Let me know if you have any questions in the mean time and I will try to address them too. Have a good night!

I have a bit over 67k on mine and its now slipping. I just checked with a speed shop I'll be spending about 1700 parts and labor. :-(
