My stock clutch lasted 92k with a lot of life left, just decided to switch out to a lighter one.

03threefiftyz,

That's a very very nice looking clutch pressure plate, how much torque can it handle? Got that same lovely chatter as well on my one piece lightweight flywheel

Just saw your 30-110 pull. Didn't know the 03 Z came with a shift light, that's nice.

It maxes out at 400-450tq at the wheels for the single disc. It will handle a stock block turbo set-up, but that's about it. There really isn't all that much chatter. The rattle is actually my exhaust. I have a rubber stopper deal that I have wedged between the exhaust mid pipe and rear chassis brace, but in my hurry yesterday I forgot to put it in. I will try to do another pull when the clutch is broken in. That was my first attempt at filming while driving and I managed to pick a road with a slight curve so I was shifting a bit early/slow, etc so I didn't put it in the median.

I have 39K, dont really feel like the clutch was slipping AT ALL. I have had to replace clutches in the past... not the same, but the dealer is telling me that it needs replacing because when the clutch is engaged it makes a humming noise.

Someone mentioned that it was the throw-out bearing, but when i asked the dealer, they said the clutch needs replacing @ $1300. So instead I am going to pick it up and pay the $120 diagnosis fee because what needs replacing is not under powertrain warranty... bummer really. I got the car a week ago!

I bought my car with 49k miles, the clutch started slipping at 54k and I had it replaced with a JWT clutch & flywheel. 10x happier with the car now.

I have posted info in this thread before and wanted to remind you all that SPEC offers both clutch and flywheel options for the G/Z that include standard single-disc, Mini-Twin and Super-Twin variants. Flywheels for the single-disc are available in steel and aluminum as well. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

I know on my350 (and I assume here) there are several vendor adds for JWT clutch/flywheel, stainless clutch line, and new throwout bearing and sleeve for 775-800. Install is usually 400-500 depending on area and intaller. 1300 seems about par for the total.

That's exactly what I did. $775 for parts and I had Dave at FT put it in.
