05 6MT clutch pedal sticking to the floor

I'm at my wits end with this problem. Not only is it annoying, but it's dangerous! Having the clutch pedal stick to the floor when your in traffic is not a pleasent thought. Changing the fluid to a DOT4 seemed to help, but the problem comes back. Has anyone figured out why this happens? Why does it only happen on some cars with no particual "bad" year??? (if it was a design issue, I would think that it would be widespread).

The delima is the car has less than 24k and the clutch grabs fine. I really don't want to go aftermarket due to the clutch noise.

Is this problem covered under warranty?? Anyone take their's to a dealer...and they actually fixed the problem??

HELP!!

try searching for master/slave cylinder supposedly nissan had a flaw when designing them. Also the dealership should warranty your problem ive had the same problem although it took me two trips to the dealership before they actually replaced it. Ive noticed that it happens when stuck in traffic in HOT weather and for some odd reason turning on the A/C helps from my experience? i dont know thats just me but yea ask the dealer they will cover it. Also the problem has to be there when you go to the dealership or else they wont replace it.

Mark,

What was the flaw in the design? Did it only affect a certain run of vehicles? How did you prove to the dealer that it was a problem (take a dealer tech for a ride and dump the clutch at high RPMs?) I really appreciate your help!

I had this exact issue, it is an easy fix, just change out the clutch fluid:

After flushing out the dirty fluid, my clutch does not stick at all anymore. Hope this helps.

initially i thought that flushing out the fluid would work and did it twice and it did work but only for about 3-4 weeks till it started getting stuck again. I am not exactly too sure about the flaw in the design but many have had the same problem before. As far as i am concerned it did not affect a specific year or model. The reason i figured it was the master/slave cylinder was because when i went to Function Tuned (local shop popular on my350z.com) the owner easily stalled while trying to put my car on the lift. After going to Function Tuned i called the dealership and told them about the problem and when i arrived there the problem went away and the dealer was not able to fix the problem then. They did advised me to call them as soon as the problem starts again and a few days later stuck in traffic it happened so i took it to the dealer and they fixed the problem the following day at no cost now everything is perfectly fine.

Feel free to ask questions im at work and it really isnt busy. Oh and btw even though i have little amount of post i spend a good 5-6 hours during work browsing the forums. Haha no patients = no work!

Yup...did that, but the problem has returned. I've made an appointment with the dealer...hopefully the problem can be replicated and fixed.

Does it only stick in certain conditions, like when the temp is hot, or after you have driven for a while?

all conditions...I could try to dump the clutch when she's cold, and get the same results.
