Can you tell us who you ar eand what dealership d oyou work at? If you are mod-friendly, your dealer can get a lot more business from the 10's of thousand s of board members here in socal.

Wow you're in COncord

I am in SF now (school). Maybe I'll PM you or smth if/before I bring my car in. Would you guys be able to do the reporgramming of my AT program to the 0004 version. All infiniti dealers should have the pc card with the program on it (because of a prior TSB perhaps).

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

Here are some pictures of the AM605 shifter: I was supposed to get the other two in stock at the same time, but they backordered at the last minute, so i'll have to change a couple things around in the order, to get them in.

Here are a few pictures though, they should hopefully give you a better idea of how the shifter works in manumatic mode. Also they show how the switches are activated and what stops/limits the movement of the shifter.

This shows one switch activated in manumatic mode...

This shows it going the other direction.

Great pictures Justin.

Which car does the AM605 shifter fit? If possible, can you post which part numbers fit which car.

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

It seems as though it is pretty easy to modify the stock shifter to make it a "short throw"

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

Hey Guys

I went down to Nielo Inifniti in Concord today and met Vince (InfinitiTech). 4 words: Vince is the Man. He was extremely helpful. He was successful in upgrading my AL000 program to the AL004 program.

My impressions are very consistent with those of DaveO.
1) Quicker downshifts in D and M modes. The ctranny doesn't stick aorund for like a seconds before it decides to shift down.
2) Downshifting in M mode is still there.
3) When you shift in M mode (command the TCM to shift up or down), the tranny shifts more quickly and without as much hesitation. Nothing too earth-shattering, just a bit of more control.

Anyways, just wanted to reaffirm that Vince is a great, mod friendly gearhead tech like ourselves and he is the "go to" man if you/your car needs expert advice/repair. Thanks again Vince

Also, for the skeptics out there, look what the Consult II spit out.

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

HOLY MOLEY!!!!
Not only did it adjust your tranny, it made it into a TIME MACHINE! (Slip dated 1/1/1980)
I see your car is silver, but does it have gullwings now? (DeLorean......get it?)
I'm just insanely jealous of your mods.........

Seriously, though.......it STILL downshifts in MM mode?

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

Wow, look a that, i didn't even notice that - funny. Funny comment too!

I guess they have to adjust the clock. It certainly didn't make it faster, the shifts are crisper. Now, the valve body mod WILL make the car a little faster in straight line acceleration as it will BANG through the gear and chirp the tires between shifts.

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

BTW, forgot to say, I actually chirped the rear wheels a little bit from downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. The shifts are a littel crisper.

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

Dude,
I am glad to hear it helped. I was wondering. Keep me on the loop with your car. I would like to see the mod's as you go. By the way, when I was checking the ECM part number I also check for any codes in your system, you had two CAN network codesand a vehicle speed sensor code. I cleared them for you. Dont know why they would flash up. But just to give you a heads up on it, when you come in for your audio unit I will check it again.......

Re: Tranny Programming 5AT

THanks Vince

What's a CAN network code. The vehicle speed sensor code might be from the fact that I have a taller rear drive ratio (350Z 3.538 LSD diff). The CAN codes I have no idea about.

PLease let me know when I can come in for the stereo swap.

THanks much
Gurgen
