Is this program update something my Infiniti dealer would do
for me?

Yes the Infiniti dealer can download it from their Asist program....Dont know what they would charge though.....

 

How do you know what program is in your g?? I just bought mine 2wks. ago.

You would need a Consult, that is our scanner for Nissans and Infinitis. That will give you the software ID.

 

Quick question: my 04.5 G35X runs at 2700rpm going 70mph; my 02v6 EB Explorer runs at 2000rpm going 72mph; what can be done to improve highway gas milage on the G35X?

I have noticed this as well with the G35x, at this point nothing can be really done, until enough people complain about it, Infiniti may come out with a software update further down the line, but for now, it is too new of a vehicle, the G35x I mean. The usual K+N air filter may do something.

 

If you want better gas mileage get the crawford plenum and the 7 wire grounding kit. I get 420-440 per tank now on road trips where i got 280 max before.

WOW you got 160 miles more per tank, being as it is a 20 and 1/8th gallon tank basicaly your saying you got 8 more miles per gallon, sounds like a lot to me.....

 

Oh yeah I forgot, the other guy who originally asked the question has a G35x, which is 4 wheel drive........Which may not get as good of mileage to begin with. Something to consider as well

 

It seems there are different programs for the Coupe or Sedan AT. I ordered my coupe AT 6 months before they got to the showrooms so I assume it is a 2003. Is there a new AT program that will help with the shifting delay for my coupe? What part number is it and is it something a dealership has to do (for a cost) if I ask them to or can they deny me? Thanks! Oh, and for the record my MM will NOT downshift in any gear in any situation that I have put it in.

 

Yes there is a TCM reprogram for the software in the Transmission TCM. If you go to your local dealership and ask them to install the 31036-AL004 software for the sedan and the 31036-AL013 for the coupe, they may charge you for it, it should take 20 minutes to do. And ask for the consult printout to show the new software part number to confirm. It will improve all shifting.

Actually, my base prices are the same as Z-Xtreme's kits, starting at 5-wires. I've done the R&D to bring the option count up to 8 for the 6MT and 10 for the 5AT, so with the corresponding prices depend on what package is preferred with each additional wire adding something to the mix.
