Clutch warranty question
Lately, while driving my 05 6mt sedan, my clutch has been sticking halfway during release in warm weather after about 15-20 minutes. I can imitate the same stick by pressing the clutch about 15 times consecutively. I took the car to the dealership yesterday and they told me I need a new clutch, which would cost $2100 because apparently the clutch is not warranted. They said that the pressure in the slave cylinder was fine and that that was not the problem.
Is this right? My car has about 47k miles on it with the original clutch. Is the clutch not warranted? What should I do?
If I do need to replace the clutch I think I would rather go aftermarket. JWT maybe?...Nothing that chatters too much.

from what I read in my warranty your prob should be covered. A sticking clutch is not a slipping clutch. If the system that engages and disengages the clutch is not working that's warranty. If you don't know how to drive a stick and toasted the disc as a result so it's slipping that's a different thing

c&p from another site
Go buy 2 cans of the respective fluid, a funnel, and syringe.
With the motor off...
Using the syringe remove all the fluid from the clutch fluid resivoir -- be careful clutch fluid is murder on paint!
Add new fluid to the resivoir, do not fill above fill line!
Pump the clutch ~20 times
Repeat the above steps until the fluid is clean.

Hey guys. I did this about a month ago. Worked well for a little, but now the weather is 90+ again here in NJ, the clutch is sticking, and my fluid is dark again. Why does this fluid breakdown so easily. Does the clutch really produce that much heat with prolonged use. Do I need to install some sort of clutch fluid cooler?

Interesting thread. My clutch is doing the same thing (06 coupe) The clutch doesn't slip, just sticks a couple of inches of the floor, clicks, then makes another click towards the top of the travel. The car has about 22k on the odo.
Going into the dealer this week.
Edit-
FYI saw this DIY for the click at the top of the travel after typing this post-

Moderators: Would it be possible to consolidate these basic issues into a single post to be made sticky? Thanks !

Update: A week or two ago I swallowed my pride (even though I knew the dealer was wrong) and bought a jwt clutch/flywheel combo. I love the feel but absolutely hate the noise. A few days after the install I was driving my car and lo and behold the clutch started sticking again, just like before only worse. It got to the point where I could barely get the car in gear. I've never been so aggravated in my life. I took the car back to the dealership today and they said they would check the entire system again. I love the car, but unfortunately as long as I live here I don't think I'll be able to own another infiniti. I have had countless bad experiences with Jackie Cooper Imports Service department and I would advise all others to steer clear at all cost.
